Hot spots on dog's paws?

One of my coworkers has a goldendoodle who has hot spots on two paws…she has been using a steroid spray, but he just licks it off. She has bought booties to walk him in (town dog  ) but would love to find something to soothe his feet / cure the spots.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
D.

Getting to the root cause of the hotspots and then treating would be a good choice.

I know that my SP is a bit um…eccentric? Crazy? I dunno. But if he gets a bur or a tangle in his fur, he may start licking the area. So first question being a doodle is “how often is he being groomed?”

Next, wet hair can create a great environment for infection.

The fact that this dog has it going on with both front feet makes me think that either A) he’s neurotic or B) he’s got some sort of allergy that is causing itchy feet.

Your friend can shave the affected areas and use booties or a very long E-collar to try to keep him from licking but I think the best bet is to visit the vet and get to the root of the problem and treat that.
