How about a matchy matchy fashion show thread?

Pretty!

OK, my matchy friends… I’m cheap, I buy a lot of my stuff pre-owned. I just scored the most beautiful pair of dark brown custom boots with tasteful minimal brown crocodile trim, basically new, that were apparently made for me, rather than the person who originally ordered them as they are not only beautiful but comfortable!

What color show coat/ensemble would you wear with chocolate brown boots? Horse is a rather flashy bright chestnut. We have been doing the classic navy and white.

We are looking at going to a really big “away show” in November, so If I have to, I have time to try and track down an appropriate new-to-me jacket–or indeed purchase a new one! (And I’m probably up for a new (brown?) helmet as I must be due a new on sometime soon.)

I have a dark bay but I love browns and like a dark green with my brown boots- I think it would complement a chestnut even better!

Green would be delightful, or one of those lighter tan/beige coats up thread.

Maybe look on Tried Equestrian? I’ve seen some good deals there on nice high end coats.

I’d really love one of those beige coats, but I’m thinking for a November show probably darker would be more appropriate.

Green is an interesting idea. It will match my face in the warmup. I will take a look around (Yes, Tried Equestrian is on my browsing list :))

Lovely, Sancudo!

Jealous!! But for the coat, green green green. Esp on a chestnut. The right brown could work too. I know this is a hunter pic, but this was a brown coat with my chestnut. I can’t tell you what I’d have given for brown boots to go with it!

I event, but I have a chestnut too, as well as brown boots and brown dressage tack. My boots are probably a lighter brown than yours - not chocolate, more of a medium brown.

I wear beige full seat breeches, white shirt, navy jacket, brown boots. Then either navy helmet and navy gloves or brown helmet and brown gloves.

I don’t know who needs to know this, but I found out accidentally that the Romfh breeches in Pine are a pretty good match to the PS Sweden Elite pad in Storm Blue. The breeches are such an odd bluish/graying green that I never even bothered looking for anything that would match them. Then I got this pad, and in the middle of announcing to my husband that I didn’t like it that much and would probably sell it, I ran to grab the breeches and promptly changed my mind. Kind of hard to see here, but it’s a nice low-key look with a plain white shirt.

right now we’re just working on wearing a saddle. But i think in 30-60 days i’ll be aboard. My plan is to start him in dressage(english) then (based on his markings and size) move us into Western dressage. Anyhoooo…

I’m ordering this bridle that will satisfy both … (i have the same bridle for my buckskin, but in green leather) I’ll be ordering a dark brown leather but i can’t decide on stainless steel or brass hardware. Here’s the bridle, here’s the horse. Though stainless is the most modern, and i dress almost all my horses in it, i have a feeling brass might work better. I’m torn. What do you guys think?

How cute :heart:. Is this one new? I thought you had two bay mustangs?
Brass would probably look amazing and this way you would not get his bridle mixed up with the others….

Alrighty then…brass it is! thanks you guys

Avatar came to me Jan 21, 2023. So not new. He has been slow coming around. But we finally are getting somewhere. I have 15 adult mustangs, and two foals (one full mustang, one only 1/2.they have the same mustang sire)…many different colors …there are a few bays.

I’m really infatuated with these kind of orangey colors for fall. I’ve been eyeballing the new ginger color too. Trying to decide if they would look absolutely ridiculous on my buckskin or not. So far I haven’t found anything that I didn’t really like on him but orange might clash. Either way I think I’m springing for this pad and if it doesn’t look good on him I’ll give it to my sister-in-law who has a gray

Rather than matchy matchy, I went with shades that I felt work together. I was trying for a classy look that let my horse be the star. I took a risk ordering a fully custom but surprisingly affordable shad from Adi Valentino Suyitno in Indonesia through FB. Needed a bit of altering once it arrived but I’m pleased with the result.

On my screen that almost looks like more of a coral color? I think that would work on buckskin.

@Badger that is stunning!

Wow. That is GORGEOUS.

I need some help knowing how to buy a jacket. I have a “dressage” coat I found on sale a few years ago and bought it for my one and only show (it was cheap). But there must be places to buy a coat that is more flattering.

I’m short (5.5) and unfortunately well-endowed. The 4 button coats (if that’s what they’re called) just make one look heavier when you’re short and well endowed. Any suggestions?

I will otherwise be showing only in leather half chaps and probably tan breeches or dark colored breeches. I have a couple of white show shirts that will serve well enough under the coat.
