How do I upload an avatar (the picture by my username?)

You have to be on a co![](puter and not a mobile device

Go to your profile

Hover over the mystery head picture that you currently show

Click the “edit avatar” button that comes up

[IMG]https://i.imgur.com/TiLm4u0.jpg)

Click the “browse” button

Select the picture that you have saved on your computer that you would like to use and click “open”

Use the little handle thingies to set what part of the pic you’d like to display

Click save

You should be set!

I can see the picture now, nicer in the larger format than in the little avatar window.

I think that explains how to alter the picture just fine.
Hope the OP can manage that now better.
