How do you get black boot polish out of breeches?

It’s Urad and Tailored Sportsmans, if any of that matters.

OxyClean and a cold water soak have not helped.

This is why I can’t have nice things.

I would contact Urad directly and ask their opinion but sincerely, I doubt it will come off. I’m sorry.

If you google something like “removing shoe polish stains” you will get a bunch of options, most similar to this: http://www.stain-removal-101.com/shoe-polish-stains.html

I don’t know about Urad as I’ve only ever used the clear stuff, but with Kiwi wax polishes I scrub with glycerin saddle soap before I wash. I figure that’s what I use to get it off of me the easiest. You could try that.

Another good way to prevent stains in to never polish the inside of your boots.

For really tough stains I sometimes use dawn dish soap directly on the spot. I also wash in cold always and never put anything in the dryer which sets stains

Try a Lanolin based hand cleaner (think grease on your hands after working on your car). I’ve never had shoe polish on anything but it’s taken grease out of everything. Scrub it in real well and let it sit for a while. Use it liberally then wash it out in the sink.

Thanks guys. The polish rubbed off of the top of my boots when they got wet, so I have a nice contour line on my breeches from the Spanish tops of my boots. At least it’s not super obvious.

I haven’t ever had it come out. :frowning: Sorry that’s not much help. A trick for not getting it on you when polishing is to stick a towel under your boots and zip it up so that the towel sticks out and covers your knee and some of your thigh. And don’t cross your legs because you get transfer stains. Urad is especially bad for that.
