How do you lubricate your sliding stall doors?

Those of you with sliding stall doors (hang from a top track), do you lubricate them? What with?

I have several older doors–some interior, some opening to the outside–that seem as though the track assembly would benefit from lubrication. What works well and doesn’t attract dirt?

Thanks

I use Ballistol to oil my doors and hinges. I have the one that has a long nozzle so it sprays and I can use my step stool vs a ladder. Gift from my Dad.

I’ve used clipper oil a couple times as well.

I pressure wash the tracks and they slide easily once all the dust and dirt and crap is out.

After trying to spray oil up into the track to oil the rollers I drilled a few small holes in the side of the track where I can position the truck assembly to be lubricated (I normally use PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench)

Since we are not a “show” barn I then marked the small holes with paint so the others would know where these holes are

Yes, we used WD40 though the silicone version likely would have worked better. I would also clean all the dust and crap off about twice a year (use a broom weekly to knock off as much dust as possible). Made a HUGE difference in noise and ease of use.

John Deere #TY25733 Super Lube Synthetic Multi-Purpose Lubricant Spray. I bought it for my tractor and like it so much that it is now my go-to spray lubricant. It is a Teflon spray, and there. are other similar products out there too. I have used the Dupont version too.

We have nylon rollers which I have never lubricated! They have always worked well. If a door sticks it is because the bolt adjusting door height from the floor needs adjusting to raise the door off floor.

With horses outside to avoid breathing dust, I will blow out the track occasionally with the leaf blower, then blowing out floor dirt behind the door. We do get a lot of dusty dirt with the regular breeze down the aisle.

I picked up a can of PB Blaster brand lubricating oil, not the penetrating, from an auto parts store because I happened to be there when I remembered I wanted something for the outside sliding barn doors. It works a treat! I’ve sprayed graphite up there before but it hasn’t worked as well as this does. I’m gonna hit it again before winter gets here.
