After having a number of nice crops sprout legs and walk off, I started slopping my initials all over the swatter with white correction fluid (remember that old school stuff for typewriters? ha ha). It’s ugly and could be scraped off by a determined Crop Criminal, but it seems to repel Crop Criminals in general. I can turn it over if I ever need to hide it–like if I ever decided to drag myself back into a show ring. Someone needs to adapt a tiny locator with a big sound on it like a Find my Phone app. That would get a Crop Thief’s attention if it went off at just the right time–like over a big oxer. Or maybe a remote activator that would detonate and spray purple ink over the perpetrator–like, ooooh say, during a big class at the horse show.
(okay, can you tell I’ve had a few crops go MIA over the years?)
I get crops with metal caps or caps I can screw in a concho to the top of and engrave them, but you can but them engraved. It’s permanent and special.
i engrave the leather part…and they still get heisted

I buy small monogram decals from etsy then put it on my crop, and seal it one using clear nail polish!! Works like a charm :yes:
