How do you store your jumps?

Outside.

I need a good way to get them up off the ground without leaving lots of jumps in the arena. Something cheap and creative would be nice. They have to live out. No room anywhere else. It is mostly the poles and planks I am concerned about.

Any ideas?

Google “jump pole storage” for lots of ideas. This is my favorite http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/236x/29/f6/b0/29f6b0212fb3474a4efeb37e1b1123a3.jpg
You could put the brackets on your fence posts

There are sitting on a slanted concrete slab (former cattle auto-water station) outside. Next to all the fence posts I didn’t get installed. :frowning: Some are sitting on pallets.

What drives me nuts is that I stack them nicely and then the standards tip over in the wind.

I have seen people use brackets on arena walls or fences. I like the one SmartAlex posted a lot–less impalement/injury risk than a big arm out into the arena. I think the coolest thing would be a portable trailer, so you could move them easily for set-up.

For poles I have these.

Fit 9 poles on each pair (or more if you stack them 2 layers high)

We don’t have an arena as of yet, but we built a 3 sided horse shed on what will be the short side. The next year or two it’s a horse shelter; when the arena is built it will be jump/barrel/drag storage and blocked off with portable corral panels.

I made a storage unit out of available stuff on the ranch. I was frustrated with warping jump poles and panels, so my necessity mother of invention side took over. I took eight full sized cinder blocks, the kind with two hollow openings and used liquid nails to glue two together in this fashion: One cinder block standing on top of another on the short end, the second top one turned half way around, and glued together on the center short ends. I spread them apart, long enough for pole storage, one stack on each corner. I used a long broken/cracked/warped pole slid through the lower block’s top hole on each long side. I cut up another broken/cracked/warped pole to fit through the sides that would be the short side of the storage unit. So two long used poles, one each for the long side and one cut up for the short sides, installed in the lower hole of the upper block. You have made a rectangle and once assembled, you can store about 10-15 poles or planks on it. The poles are resting on the higher short pole ends of the unit. I made two, keep them and the stacked poles in the arena on the side next to the arena fencing. One double cinder block did come unglued in the time I have been using this. Maybe Gorilla Glue would be better - don’t know. Also thought maybe you could add a third support set of cinder blocks & short cut pole in the center to add more support if necessary. It wouldn’t be too expensive if you had to buy the cinder blocks.
