How many hunts are represented on this board?

I usually don’t post on this forum, just visiting from the Eventing forum, but I thought I would chime in if you don’t mind.

I am not an “avid” foxhunter (mostly due to NEVER having the appropriate horse and then finally giving up), but I do enjoy it when I do go out. I do however have a long time boyfriend who is an Obcessive foxhunter! He is a Master and First Whip (and I am a member) of the Edisto River Hounds in Aiken, SC. He was told at the annual meeting in NY this year that he is supposedly the youngest Master in the MFHA at the moment (not verified, so don’t get mad at me if your son is a young master  ). His mother is also a Founding Master of the Edisto Hunt.

His father is (or was…I can’t keep up) on the hunt committee at the Shakerag Hunt in GA. I have had a great time hunting with them on several occasions, all VERY inviting people!

And my first hunt was with the Midland Foxhounds. It was probably 6 yrs ago that I went out with them some, but it was my first experience with foxhunting and I enjoyed it very much.

*I will say that even though I generall miss out on hunting because of weekly horse trials, I THOROUGHLY enjoy the social life that comes with hunting! Hunt balls and yearly trips to NYC are so much fun, and hunt parties are always a blast no matter what hunt you are enjoying the company of.

We hunt with The London Hunt.
My hunts were/are the Molo Hounds, Kenya, the S&W Wilts, Salisbury, England and the Fraser Valley Hunt, (drag) British Colummbia
Okay…good lord tell us about hunting in Kenya!!! What kind of hounds?

i have hunted with the green mountian hounds in vermont, and hope to again someday, but with a sane horse! did i miss anyone here from the millbrook hunt in new york? i’d love to observe if anyone can clue me into a time and day and a good vantage point from which to watch the hounds and horses go by.

I have been out of showing (H/J) for about 10 years. I recently got the “itch” back but was not interested in showing. Figured foxhunting would be new challenge. Soon I hope to join Midland (Georgia). Went on hunt several weeks ago (followed in car) but had a blast just the same. Now if I can just get my TB to actually willingly go in the trailer, I may just actually get over there and experience it on the back of a horse!

Not that I did not have a blast riding in the truck with you, Earl!

Woodford Hounds, Kentucky

My husband and I have colors and hunt with Woodford Hounds in KY. We also were members w/ colors with Bellwood in Chester County, PA.
I’m from VA and started hunting with Keswick after I got married (only capped…we were just finishing school at UVA)

Lake of Two Mountains Hunt, Canada

For many years before we moved to Kansas I was the photographer & video guy for LTMH (or Lake of Two as it’s known) http://www.forevergreenstables.com/LTMH.htm and Mrs. KS got her colours with them. Still keep in touch with their now retired huntsman, Alfie Smith & his wife, Margaret (who’s probably forgotten more about keeping & training hounds than most men know).

Amwell Valley Hounds, Ringoes, NJ

The Caroline Hunt, Milford, VA

I’m not a member but have hunted a few times this season and walked hounds with the Caroline Hunt. What a blast! So much for my desire to horse show … I’ve had more fun hunting 3 times this season than 3 years of circling the show ring!

I have hunted withthe Hamilton Hunt, Ontario Canada since 1984 and my hubby and I do hang out with the Tintern Hare Hounds (basset pack). Unfortunately the Weather Gods ended our season here Saturday night. A bunch of us are heading to Tennessee to hunt with the Cumberland Mountain Hounds in late January. www.hamiltonhunt.ca is our website- that’s me on the ClydeX in the top right pic at the start of our photo page from the meet at our farm, and me on the Paint in the other pics…

Easton Harriers for me, although I have hunted with the West Norfolk Foxhounds too.

A bit late but here’s a couple of new hunts:

Now that we’ve finally found proper mounts, my wife and I are members of Tryon Hounds and also hunt with Green Creek Hounds (both in Polk County NC) and Palm Beach Hounds, when we’re in S FL.

I have had the pleasure of capping w/ the Green Creek/Green County Hounds in Farmville, NC. A small but enthusiastic group. They are actually some of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to meet.
I too, thought I wanted to “horse show” but after hunting again…not so much.

just a groom, but we ride out with Cheshire, Unionville, PA… have also been out with Cochran Hunt also in Unionville
