Current members of Limestone Creek Hunt in Cazenovia, NY. Past members of BHFH in Ontario. Private/farmer pack of bassets.
“Well, if we’re adding in not only the hunts of which we’re members, but the hunts with which we’ve hunted, add in a few more for me:”
YIKES!
Using this criteria…Farmington, Princess Anne, Middleburg, Warrenton, Piedmont, Loudon West, Old Dominion, Bull Run, Fairfax, Orange County, Rappahannock, Thornton Hill, Oak Ridge, Casanova, Reedy Creek, Commonwealth, Snickersville in VA; De La Brooke, New Market and HCIB in MD; Rolling Rock, PA; Midland, Belle Meade in GA; Edgar Cato’s, Whiskey Road, Edisto River and Middleton Place in SC; Green Creek, NC; Wellington-Waterloo, Canada.
Ok Beverly, what’s up on your scoreboard? I know it’s gonna be interesting!
YIKES! I was just thinking about the hunt you are currently hunting with. I’m gonna need an Excell spread sheet for all of this information…LOL!
I’m a member of the Ormond Foxhounds
This is so cool - so many foxhunters! Why don’t you guys post more often? I’d love to read more threads on hounds, houndwork, breeding…
Oh the list of hunts we’ve ever ridden with will get QUITE lengthy!
I just included the one I have my colors with and the one I’m currently a supporting member of.
How many hunts are represented on this board?

I have colours with the Essex Fox Hounds (NJ) (so did my mother and my grandparents! We go back to the turn of the last century!) But, of course, I haven’t hunted with them since college which was a long time ago.
Was a whip for the Tewksbury Foot Bassetts (OK, a SLOW whip, but had fun nonetheless) and briefly for the Octorara Beagles (my ex’s pack). Love the foot hounds - you can really see them work!
Have hunted with numerous packs both on foot and horseback. The Galway Blazers came through here today…
But, if I can’t have foot hounds, give me PENNMARYDELS!!! No music so sweet!!!
Weatherford - I have an old book on basset and beagle packs and Tewksbury is in there - along with pictures!
I love hunting on foot. Much better viewing than mounted foxhunting.
But, if I can’t have foot hounds, give me PENNMARYDELS!!! No music so sweet!!!
I agree!! Although not hunting right now I do have a retired PMD. He will occassionally get on a line and that sound at 6:30am is just wonderful . I’m not sure my neighbors agree but fortunately none of them appear to have guns
I won’t go as far to say I’m hunting on foot but I’m usually walking him when this happens . We live along a large wetland and conservation area in the middle of suburbia so I can find a position and enjoy the show.
My hunts were/are the Molo Hounds, Kenya, the S&W Wilts, Salisbury, England and the Fraser Valley Hunt, (drag) British Colummbia
not an avid foxhunter, but LOVE to go when I can!
So far have been out a few times this year with Orange County, going to also go out with Piedmont.
My property is Snickersville territory - love watching them go through!
Also going down to Belle Meade this winter!
SO FUN!!
Hey All!
I’m Donna Ray and My daughter, Carson, and I hunt with Brazos Vally Hunt in Texas. Opening Day is Saturday!

I hunt with Live Oak Hounds out of Monticello, Florida.
Started huntiing about 3 years ago. Learned to ride English just so I could hunt! Before that all I rode was TWH on trail rides. Now I hunt as much as possible! LOVE IT!
Worked on property that was part of Cheshire Hunt in Unionville, Pa.(always loved to see them come thru, although the racehorses weren’t) and sometimes car followed them. I also used to work for Russell Jones.
I capped numerous times with Spring Valley Hounds in NJ 20 something years ago!
Now researching hunts in upstate NY - would love to get back into it!
Gosh! I just realized I hadn’t posted to this thread yet!
Currently hunting with Snickersville Hounds (they are wonderful), live smack-dab in the middle of Piedmont’s Tuesday territory (have capped with them and also go out most Tuesdays to watch them go off), capped with Middleburg, Loudoun West, whipped-in 2 seasons for Mrs. Fout’s MOC pack, and prior to that hunted with Radnor, Mr. French’s hounds (private pack in PA) and Brandwine back in my 20’s. Loooong time ago!
Hunting blood in my family goes back to my 6x great grandfather (a judge) who hunted with Gloucester County Fox Hunt (NJ) in late 1700’s and owned the “Death of the Fox” tavern in Clarksboro (Gloucester County, NJ - 1796) before he died in 1801. He even had 3 foxhunting horses listed in his will. (Better than me – I only have two currently, hopefully 3 next year) His father, a Col. in the Revolutionary War, also hunted with GCFH - the first established hunt club in the US (founded Oct 29, 1766 in Philadelphia). It is said that the members hunted twice a week on alternating sides of the Delaware River (meaning PA and NJ) but the areas around Cooper’s Creek (where my ancestors had 3 saw mills) and Woodbury (where they resided) were the favorite fixtures.
How could I not love hunting with this kind of background?
