No power needed, that’s what the sun is for! And people frequently grow in forests because the (non-weed) trees provide cover for fly-over police helicopters.
Weed doesn’t make enough money any more now that it is legal in certain states. One of my friends invested in her daughters medical operation, and yes you need to be producing year long so lights and power, and the market depressed badly after it became legal.
I would say that nothing good happens between midnight and three either only I worked a swing shift and between midnight and three was completely wasted time for me. Well I could pay bills and do bookwork, quiet stuff, sometimes laundry, but I was tired too so it was largely wasted time.
Maybe be he is burying his trash or dead animals. Awful lot of either.
Know anyone that wants to practice with their drone?
OP would have to get infrared or night vision or thermal. I can’t find an easy price list, seems like the cameras can be pricey. but she might be able to use one through work.
Ahhhhh… hmmm… Only in perfect ideal conditions. Here, just about everyone does hydroponic indoors. Think tomatoes (I actually bought 20 tomato cages from a grow op haha), and the smaller operations do dirt, but still indoors with lights and fans, so power needed. I can see all their property, they have a small lean to in the back and that’s it, no room for a grow and no power or gennie.
Around here, illegal grows are still where the money is because of taxes. A dispensary on the other hand, that’s where the money is on the legal side of things. So those not growing legally do still make money, enough to be worth it. It is HIGHLY regulated. I have a good friend on the LCB and she switched from retail to operations, and messages me when something interesting happens. She burned $30k worth of unregistered plants at an otherwise legal operation and the guy CRIED. They regulate pesticides, everything.
Yeah too much for animals or trash, though I know they shot at least one horse and a few cows and pigs, but I always assumed they turned around and fed them to the live pigs?
We are too close to the base for a drone from my house, there is a teeny corner at the back of my property we can launch from and fly over theirs, but hard to explain why in the middle of the night because they are LOUD. Maybe someone on a tractor wouldn’t hear it, but what can I see at night? And yes, men and toys, I know several with drones. Not a bad idea for a daytime flight, the path should be pretty obvious by now.
Not true in Colorado, at least. Though cannabis is legal, growing for the black market is still profitable and widespread.
https://www.cpr.org/2019/06/12/color…-other-states/
“I’ve never seen the black market for marijuana as robust and as expertly cultivated, forgive that pun, as I have right now,” said District Attorney George Brauchler, who has been a prosecutor for 25 years.
The financial incentive to continue to break the law is just too great. While 10 states and the District of Columbia have passed full marijuana legalization, the vast majority of the US still lacks access to legal cannabis. There are large margins to be made in taking the risk of growing for the black market.
“You take $1,000 worth a pound of marijuana out here, and it’s about $4,000 to-$5,000 out in Florida,” Brauchler said.
I guess my girlfriends daughter hasn’t slipped over to the dark side. Her mom invested and was ticked about the lack of return to date.
The for-sale sign went up today! Of course they are asking $200k more than they paid three years ago, but FINGERS CROSSED!!
I still want to know midnight to 3am!!! What is there to do?!? Give me ideas! That’s about the only “wasted” time I have these days to sleep!
I can almost guarantee that they are burying stuff that they do not want to pay to get rid of. Old pieces of farm equipment, tires, furniture, fencing, appliances, etc.
There was a house up the road from my parents that a nice couple raised their children in. They retired and wanted to move. For some reason, a hole had to be dug for something in the backyard, and before you know it, they found a tire. The buyers, one of whom was on the town concom, was not pleased. More digging. Pretty soon, there was a MOUNTAIN of old tires in the driveway next to the house. I cannot imagine what this cost the old owners to deal with, and apparently they had no idea there were tires on the back hillside. It was somewhat entertaining, but also appalling.
Wahoo!!! Congrats!!!
(Maybe my terrible neighbors will follow suit soon?)
OK the old owner is coming over and we are gonna walk over and see what we can see ( I love this place!). He said the neighbor catty corner to me and behind and next to them died, so maybe they’ve been dumping on his place?? I’ll report back!
We want lots of details! And pictures too!
OK sad to report… nothing interesting. If there had been, I had my phone to take pictures  Just a manure heap. Maybe something under it but I wasn’t gonna dig. Why they needed to bring out the poo at 1am is beyond me but shrugs all around
Meh, I used to drive off to work at oh dark thirty and the neighborhood tweaker would be out working on his car. Like I said I had awake time from midnight to 3am, but I wasn’t rude enough to make a racket, just because it’s the country doesn’t mean no one can hear you.
Things you don’t want other people to see you doing, of course.:lol::lol:
I guess we don’t have a definitive answer yet? Just things they probably aren’t doing. Maybe it’s better not to know what they’re doing in case it isn’t interesting - much more fun to keep guessing.
Disposing of drug cartel hit victims? Covering up alien landing sites that are in constant use?
If there is ever a chance to do it while the property is in transition, it would be interesting to have a metal detector expert go back there and give it a go. Also isn’t there a device that detects things like excess heat, changes in temp from one spot to another? To help figure out if anything is decomposing back there.
Mysteries like this can haunt someone for a lifetime, thinking up various versions of what the answer might be …

Well I have been turning horses out at 3 AM lately. When I get home from work it is too hot so I lie down for just a minute… Then I wake up about 3 and get up and turn them out. Neighbors already think I am nuts. They might be right too.
Yup. It’s the neighbors one by one. They are strategically selling their body parts. They kill them at 12am, then bury the rest of them in the manure pile, and need to haul lime to the pile nightly. Mmmwwwwaaahaaaahaaaa Jenners!:yes::winkgrin:”‹”‹”‹”‹”‹”‹”‹
