How many panels in 60 ft round pen?

I’m sure I’ve seen this info before but I did a search and I can’t find it. I have a 50 ft round pen and I’d like to extend it to a 60 ft. How many panels do I need? I have 13 now. I think they are 12 ft panels.

Our round pen is 59’ and we have three 14’ gates and several 10’ x 6’ , nine bar panels.
We were also using it to start border collies on goats, that is why rather close bars at the bottom.

Here is how to measure:

—"Multiply the diameter you desire by 3.14 to determine the pen’s circumference. Divide the circumference by the length of the panels you wish to use [Example: If you plan to use 10 foot panels to construct a 60 foot pen, multiply 60 by 3.14 to get a circumference of 188.4, then divide 188.4 by 10 (panel length) to get 18.84. You’ll need 19 panels for a slightly larger than 60-foot pen]. If you’ll be adding a separate gate piece, consider it’s length when calculating the overall diameter of the pen. - "—

Thanks!!

If the diameter is 60 ft there will 188.4 feet in the radius. If using 12 ft panels you will need 15 to 16 12 ft panels.

The math is diameter X pi (3.14) (D)60 X (pi)3.14 = 188.4

I am not a math wizard so feel free to do a “fact check”.

Here’s a really cool website that friends of mine created for YOU!

I am not affiliated but I did use it when I was designing my pen. It’s easy and correct.
