Ours is $2000 a year. Just curious.
IIRC, $1,300 for membership and subscription this year and spouses are discounted. So around $2.2K for both of us?
With the grotty weather, we’ve only had 27 hunts so far this year and will just break 30 for the season if we’re lucky. Of course, there are extra costs like potluck food and fuel to get there. But, we still average over 50 organized events a year (hunts, trail rides, parties, other types of social outings) plus free attendance at houndwalking all year. Dirt cheap on a per-activity or per-hour basis. Literally a fraction of the cost of polo, and the people are WAY more fun.
$3,100 for a family membership, so… $2k for a single? There is also a $2k initiation fee for new members.
When I first joined Midland in 91 my dues were $50. No joke.
$2500 or so for non-landowners, $1800 or so for landowners and 'sustaining members (of 5+ years).
We have different levels & different stages, along with normal “types” of memberships. The levels & stages are new to me, but when I was a Junior it was $400. They still let me be a junior when I was in college though.
“Level’s” can go up to $10,000 but there are different types.
Standard Family - $1500
Single Adult - $1200
We also have secondary memberships & out of area memberships.
Have to ask my wife she handles that stuff. But pretty sure around $5,000 for the both us.
And that is with a landowners discount.
The hunt is and has been for years “over subscribed”. Real difficult for none landowners to get in. I think if there is room they have to make a pretty hefty donation to the land preservation trust.
Sounds pricey but the hunt does have a substantial amount of excellent land to hunt in a very expensive area. All very convenient. Lots of jumps to maintain, trails etc. Excellent staff, housing, kennel and barn. Not to mention a pretty well know pack of hounds.
Not terribly social but not in a bad way. No “club house”, no hunt balls, etc. But I wish it did. A few social events, a well known P-P etc.
Didn’t join this year figured we’d cap around, MD and VA, also. Did little to nothing this season with the weather. I doubt our hunt has been out at all since around Christmas. Usually we can hunt pretty much all winter. With some footing gaps here and there.
So we picked a good year not to have to find the money for dues.

That’s because, according to Ben, that’s all the say you (members) got.
About $2000 per year but I get a price break until I’m 40. I really appreciate the stepped pricing.
So, “cap around” is acceptable, lol?
Well, it depends…there’s a price for almost every age bracket and single or family. You can pay quarterly or yearly.
We get a lot of bang for the buck because we have a club house, pool, tennis courts, cross country course, and several rings to ride in with jumps. There are trail rides during the summer and lots of social events to enjoy. And when school was called for snow many of us met at the club house with kids and sleds in tow (and snacks and hot chocolate) to sled on the hill behind the club house. When we’d had enough we’d come in by the fire and warm up / dry off.
I also belong to a farmer’s pack, the dues are less (by about a 1/4), but they still do trail rides and such to help the group stay social in the off season.
If you are new to an area, or new to foxhunting, I say YES to capping around for a while. You need to find out if the hunt is what you want. Each has a little different air to them and style of hunting. Heck, even though I have 2 memberships, I still enjoy capping around or joint meets to see how each does in their own country.

Correct, that is exactly what we were told. No one calls him Ben, it’s “Hardaway”
$450 per year, landowners are $10 per year. 40 hunts carded each season.
Wow! I’m glad I live down here. $255 per year. I usually do all the weekend hunts (about 16) and a few midweeks - so it’s incredibly good value. Our hunt land isn’t the best in NZ (it’s getting smaller and smaller) but there is still excellent hunting and I enjoy each and every day.
$1000 for a weekday membership, I think it’s about $2000 for a full and $2500 for a family. I do the weekdays because I have two small kids and want to spend the weekends with them and my husband. I’m hoping to end up with at least one of them riding and will be all too thrilled to pay the family membership at that point!
I only pay $350 to hunt with a small private pack that goes out on Sunday. Of course I haven’t been out since late November because of weather, not being able to keep horse fit, etc. Hoping to get out for the last few hunts in April.
$500 per year, juniors are significantly less. Capping $45 during formal season. Late Spring/Early Summer cubbing as well as late summer cubbing beginning in August. Formal season ends just after Thanksgiving.
