how much dee gee do I need to cover my horse stalls?

How much dee gee do I need to cover my horse stalls 2 inches deep?
I have 5 outdoor stalls that are about 24 ft wide by 50 ft deep.
How do I calculate how much dee gee I need? by cu feet or by tonnage?
Can anyone do the math for me?
Once I know how much materal is needed, then I can call for prices, & estimate the costs.
Thanks

Not a term I ever heard of! Must be a regional term for … What the heck is dee gee?

Here’s a great calculator:

Pretty sure it’s decomposed granite.

Thank you, now it makes sense!

Not sure I would use that as a top layer, it can be quite sharp. Stays sharp over time and use.

I love DG! I have put it in several stalls. Lots of it. I put 9 tons in a 24x24, two inches deep is not very deep, your horse will dig that up pretty quickly. Use the calculator but plan on a bit more.

Grade it, roll it/compact it, water it a lot to get it to settle and it holds up very well.

Also, check prices at your suppliers. I found a considerable difference and the one furthest away was actually the cheapest even with the delivery charges. Oh, and buy it while it is dry. If it is wet they shouldn’t sell it to you as it will be heavy.

O.k. - so I had a giant truck & trailer load delivered, the bill says 27+ tons. Cost $545.00 including delivry
& taxes, so I’m guestimating about $19.90 pr ton… and, yes, it is dry. Now, to move all this dg into the stalls. This will keep my critters above flood/mud level when it rains here, I hope. Thanks all for your help!
