How Much For A Used Trilogy?

I have ridden in two Trilogy Allegiance saddles and loved them both. Same size. Both were black and not the current brown ones being offered new.

One of them is for sale. It is in great shape. Normal wear and tear, such as rubs from the leathers. The other one I would love to buy. Not sure if they will sell.

The one that is for sale, that I described above is being offered locally for $3,500. This surprised me considering it is used, is not the current brown and has a cantle insert that is kind of odd (think painting your living room red and black and having prospective buyers kind of turned off),

Is that price in line? I can find a ton of other Trilogy saddles for sale, but not this model.

I paid $4k a year ago for a lightly used black one, not sure of model, but it fit my Lusi almost perfectly so did not get charged for a refit/adjustment.

This saddle has been used by a trainer, and has had a lot of use. She has taken great care of it and it is in good shape. I just can’t find any information about used price points for this model.

Find the retail price, divide by half. Subtract a bit more for obvious wear and year. Then make an offer and negotiate a bit if necessary.

General rule of thumb is 20% value lost per year.

$3500 seems like a very fair price for a recent model. Older model Viragos and Amadeos are still going for more than $2k

Thank you for the info! Gives ma a starting place.

New this model is $4,850. Half that would be $2,425. I might just bite the bullet and get a new one. I don’t want a brown saddle, so I hope they are still making them in black.

It should be no problem to get black…they offer many option on a new one if you are able to be patient…

I’m selling mine for $1500 because it’s older and not cosmetically perfect. (Not posting to advertise, just to let you know what a fair price for your “more beat up” saddle might be.)

I agree with everyone else that a pristine one would be more along the lines of $3k

Same with me and my older Amadeo. I’ve priced it around $1500US because of cosmetic appearance.

I love my Amadeo!
I did pay a bit more than that a couple of years ago, but to me it’s worth so much more that I’ll never be able to sell it because nobody in their right minds would pay that much

I love mine too. It doesn’t fit my current horse but I’m not in a big hurry to sell it.

I have been riding in my trainer’s saddle or using a fellow boarder’s saddle. Both are the Alligence model. I used my own saddle (a Custom Icon Flight) and it was murder on my hips. I am still limping a couple of days later. The Alligence has not caused any problems for me.

You can offer less and let the seller say no, but if you don’t offer, they can’t say yes.

Very true. I am so avoidant in situations like that. But I really do ride and feel better in that Trilogy.

I know, I can talk the talk, but stumble when trying to do the walk, myself.
