It looks like the dogs are all improving but I can’t even imagine watching this moose repeatedly stomp my dogs. They are lucky to be alive.
This story was the first thing I saw when I woke up the other morning. I genuinely surprised that none of the dogs were killed. I can’t imagine how powerless everyone would feel in a situation like that.
I’ve had a few encounters with bear and moose while out running near my hometown. I’d rather see a bear.
I follow some of the musher’s FB… all the dogs are recovering, even Flash who was stomped or kicked in the head. Here’s the original post about it, and there’s a follow up further down.
Horrific & heartbreaking.
But, again, the Clueless Asshats chime in on comments.
Musher should have sacrificed herself to save dogs, making dogs pull sleds is krewl, ad nauseum.
This is why I am opposing making my Driving Club’s FB page Public.
Last thing needed is the Great Unwashed posting how mean it is to force horses to drive.
I admit that I laughed at the one comment about Moose being doomed to extinction because we humans are killing them all.
Jingles to that poor dog owner and their dogs!
A friend had Animal Control called on him for leaving his dogs outside without food, water, or shelter for an entire day. They’re huskies, They have a dog door, and they chose outside when they had a nice 3 foot drift in the backyard. Oh, and they made their own shelter, burrowed into it together and refused to come in for bed.
Oh please. These are the same dopes that try to pet the nice moosie woosie. Not knowing they are very dangerous and will trample you if given half a chance.
Poor dogs were probably so surprised that they probably never even had a chance to bite the rotten thing. Yeah and a handgun is useless on something that size an jumping around.
I feel bad for the owner and the dogs but the moose isn’t a “rotten thing”. They were in the moose’s territory and the moose probably thought they were wild domestic dogs or wolves and did what most bull moose would do. I’m glad that the dogs all survived.
