How to access fresh water tank under couch?

How do I access the fresh water tank under the couch in my horse trailer (4* 3 horse w Showtime lq)?

Currently, I am folding the bottom and top pieces of the couch into a “v” and, barely, sticking my arm in between the “bumper” of the couch (the fixed padded area that supports the bottom cushion – sort of like a dust ruffle but hard) and the v. There has to be another way!

Thanks in advance.

I am curious, too, OP?

I have not yet owned a LQ horse trailer, but I have owned a long line of fifth wheel campers, and NONE of those water tanks was accessible unless you spent hours ripping in to the guts of the trailer.

They were filled from a valve on the outside wall of the camper, and you could also add disenfectants via that valve. They were drained thru a port lower down on the trailer (or under it).

Have you looked on the outside or under the trailer for valves/ports?

Agreed. The tanks are not necessarily built to be accessible from inside the living compartment. We fill and flush our tank (also located under the couch in the LQ) from the outside of the trailer.

We had to take the couch apart to access the water tank when it developed leaky fittings with age. What a mess! We got the new fittings put in place, tank back in place, then put the couch back together again. Works good now!

We also have the hose port and drain valve accessible on the outside of trailer for filling and dumping water. No need to access the tank from inside when everything is working correctly.

Well, there is this piece of hose and fitting I need to put back on. It sure how it came off, or exactly where it goes. Sounds like I need to become a contortionist!

I have a wood panel below my sofa which I can remove to access my pump and part of my tank for winterizing. Otherwise I do the V thing if I have to reach it for anything else.

Do you access the wooden panel from underneath the trailer?

I doubt it.

I am betting the panel is below the seat of the sofa, the “front” of it basically. Usually held on with a few screws so it can be removed easily and put back on easily.

Thank you all!
