How to convert a regular English bridle to bitless?

I’ve heard that a regular English bridle can be converted to bitless. How can this be done?

If you’re good with your hands, you can make a noseband out of rope that will attach to the original headstall.

Not quite a conversion, but I have a lightrider English noseband that I just put on my normal bridle.

You would need to add some sort of side pull or bosal to keep the bridle in place and attach reins to. This Tory leather one used to be on all the tack sites but I can’t seem to find it anymore http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/6a/JumpingCavesson.jpg/624px-JumpingCavesson.jpg

Remove the bit that has a mouthpiece and replace it with a hackamore bit, e.g., one like this:

I’ve never personally used one but have known someone who has.
