We lost our 25 year old OTTB unexpectedly last weekend. We took him in 15 years ago with an injury that had him headed to slaughter. How would I go about finding race photos? Is that possible?
It might be possible, but the amount of time that has passed since his race days might make it difficult or impossible. I would say it’s definitely worth a try, but don’t get your hopes up. Check his race record on Equibase, see what wins he had at which track. From there, call or email the track to see if the track photographer was there at the time and would have the photos on file for the races on that date.
I found my guy’s race photos that way, but that was back in 2014 (?) and he retired from racing the year prior so I got a small handful of win photos.
