How to price and market a breeding mount

I acquired a very good, used breeding mount when we moved to Oklahoma thinking we would do some collections on our paint stallion. As it turned out we ended up taking the stud to our repro vet’s place to collect and ship. We’ve since sold the stallion and only do LC with the TB’s and our ISH. DH is tired of moving and mowing around it!! I think CL will be the site of choice, but how to price it?? It is a commercially built, HD one with a good fitted cover over good padding, no collection “hole”. Any idea what to ask for it?? Thanks.

I paid $1500.00 new for mine a few years ago plus shipping. If its in “new” condition I’d go 900.00 and not budge much from that price …

Good luck!

You may also want to list it here as well. http://www.equine-reproduction.com/board/messages/6/6.html No idea of pricing for you though. Good Luck.

Thanks. Our problem is location!! Not really in the heart of “civilized” breeding country!! Shipping this monster is not an option!! Locals usually turn a stud out with a herd of 30-80 mares and wish him luck!!! Jackie
