I’ve been just wiping off my biothane pony harness with a damp cloth, but what is safe to use on it to really clean it? I love Leather Therapy Wash, but don’t know if it’s safe to use on biothane- would hate to use something that would cause it to get tacky. The bottle says nothing. Any suggestions?

Dish soap.
Mild dish soap. Don’t use leather anything on it, even transfer makes the surface feel gummy. In the days of mixed harness, the stuff you washed and conditioned the leather harness with (varied from person to person) would get on hopple hangers (first generation biothane) and would drip from the leather uptugs on the hopples to the nylon loops. The hangers would be gummy and the rollers wouldn’t work well and the hopple loops would be gummy and if not carefully cleaned with dish soap or something, would burn the crap out of a horse. You only want to get the sweat and dirt out of the stitching, the biothane itself needs no real care but a wipedown.
I used to take it in the shower with me. The stuff is fabulous.

Ivory Liquid is recommended for Zilco Harness, which is not exactly biothane. Heather Schneider who is the dealer for Zilco, said the Ivory Liquid is what she uses, has scored VERY well on any turnout judging at CDEs.
Wash with a soft brush for any dirt, rinse well, wipe dry. Our Zilco stuff looked pretty nice after getting washed in this manner for a public outing.
Ivory liquid is often recommended for things, has always been a good product for cleaning for me on certain items.
I would be very careful with any other kinds of soap or cleaning product on the synthetics because it can make them sticky. Read your labels carefully, because SOAP and DETERGENT do not have the same properties in their content/chemical makeup. People often call things “soap” when they actually are not any kind of true soap, just are a cleaning product.

The biothane tack we use for our polocrosse horses I run through the washing machine.
Dish soap or dishwasher for “regular cleaning”, a bit of Pine Sol for serious grunge, and Armor All on non-pony surfaces to make it sparkly for presentation.
The power washer works for me if it’s gotten really dirty. Otherwise, Murphy’s Oil and a good rinse
