How to watch WEG?

I doubt there will be any coverage on TV that I can watch, so any online places to view? Doesn’t have to be in real-time…

Thanks!

apart from FEI Highlights, I can’t find anything. Equidia replied they do not have the rights to other countries so will not be streaming outside of France! Well, I hope they remember that when the WEG are in Bromont… but at least in Lexington, I remember watching on line for free… sigh…

It’s on TV in the US if you get UHD (which on DIRECTV is channel 569 which I don’t have and am not going to pay more for…) :frowning:

FEI TV is offering a pay internet service with live coverage. It’s 12 Euros a month, but I don’t see a restriction that you must be in Europe.

I found this…

Nothing about the US though

Also in Canada, The Rural Channel…??? never heard of it.

And being on Rogers… they don’t carry it.

BUT, I remember that during the Olympic Games, we could get a British IP and watch on line all the equestrian sports on BBC.
I just wonder if there is such a site (where you can get a different IP address, ie in France, and follow Equidia or Eurosport?). I would not know how to go about finding that, maybe some more tech savvy COTHERS would???
Please!!

I Just upgraded my Dish for one month for $11. What I want to know is how much they will cover, and if we can watch online.

and expatshield… it worked very well for me then. Maybe we can watch through the BBC again!!

I could be wrong, but I swear they broadcasted WEG from Lexington on regular TV. I remember recording it and making my parents sit through hours of all events.

clipmyhorse.tv will be streaming the Games but only inside Germany.
Be interesting to see what the BBC and French and German TV will be streaming for those who have proxy VPNs. They seem to work with every single internet service but Hughesnet . I’m of the opinion that I am stuck with FEI TV.

Expat shield limits you to the UK. HMA has proxies for every country on the planet, I do believe; but you’ll have to pay $10 or so for a month.

NBC did cover much of the WEG games, but through “lesser” channels.

Download the Hola plug-in… https://hola.org/
It works on Chrome, FireFox, and maybe some other browsers.
It is a free VPN/IP spoofer that allows you to pick what country you are browsing from. For example, you would go to the above German website, use the plug down menu to choose Germany as your home country, and voila, the site thinks you have a German IP address.

Very easy install and easy to use. It’s not 100% fool proof, but I use it all the time to get around geoblocked sites and watch racing, football and other sports with pretty good success.

It looks like it’ll be impossible to watch the WEG from the USA, unless you pay for FEI TV? Am I correct? I was looking forward to watching it! Man!

No, you can use proxies in other countries to watch their TV coverage. Apparently NBC will have some on Universal Sports if your cable/satellite package has Universal Sports available.

I would think, however, that FEI TV will have far more coverage than most Broadcasters, no matter where they are. SkyTV has Horse and Country TV in GB, but you have to pay 5 pounds for a premium subscription for a month to get WEG. Clipmyhorse looks as if it will only be covering SJ and Dressage. Equidia looks as if it will be charging as well.

I don’t mind paying for FEI TV - but won’t be able to watch live. Will they have recordings available?

and from the response I got from Equidia I doubt we can watch it here even if we pay. I may try a proxy in France though…

Team GB’s TV schedule (if you are using a proxy).

OK, I have downloaded the Hola! site, and there are many sites to download. I did download the BBC, and channel 4 but I see nothing about the WEG

Maybe it is too early? I think I will just get the FEI TV for one month… $15 is not too bad. Hopefully, it is easy to cancel…

If you look at the GB schedule above you will see that BBC coverage is mostly on the Red Button. This is only available to digital television receivers in the UK.

ok, so if I go in under the UK flag, and get on BBC, there will be a red button? and if I ‘push’ it I can get the Equestrian programming?

Using your proxy, check this out; http://www.tvcatchup.com/
