How would you handle this? Unqualified peeps blanketing horses at barn

Argentinus? I recognize this story… :joy:

You re incredibly naive, since I stated the BO liked my horse for “eating the grass evenly”.

So many of you can’t read what was actually stated. The daughter never blanketed 200 horses, you, like many, misread my post. The daughter is new to blanketing horses. She’s not an idiot as you seem to think she is, she’s not well trained. You don’t seem to understand the situation but will post anyway.

So comes the devolvement of this thread when posters don’t take into consideration the first posts explaining the situation.

You, like others, miss that the BOs like my horse for his grazing patterns. I didn’t say or see that.

My horse has been regularly trained his whole life. You seem to miss that.

This thread has come to it’s COTH extinction. Many provided good posts at first. Then there are people like you that wish to twist things later on, change the narrative. You and others of your ilk are why I will be hesitant to respond. I’m sure you won’t understand this and have rather limited experience with horses. I’m sure you’ll say to the high heavens what a expert you are. Your response says otherwise.

Thank you for a constructive post.

I rolled my eyes so hard I saw my own brain  just when you think the replies can’t get any more ridiculous, they do!

Obvioulsy, you cant respond in a constructive manner. Roll your eyes as much as your can, you still can’t respond in a constructive manner. How unfortunate. I suggest learning how to communicate.

Excellent way to lead by example! Well done!

There’s probably someone else waiting for the use of the shovel, btw.

Hey, @J-Lu

  1. What do you think the daughter did to cause your horse to touch the hot wire?
  2. Did the daughter manage to get the horse blanketed?
  3. Is the feed bucket right beside the hot wire?
  4. Has the feed bucket always been beside the hot wire?

I was just reading back and saw this. Yes! Dumbass Broke is exactly my philosophy. The safest horses are the ones that can be handled by just about anyone and mind their manners. I have raised a few from babies (including current one…now 15) and I make sure they’re used to all the idiocy a human might throw at them in life because it’s not guaranteed that they’ll stay with me (one did…his entire life, and anyone could handle/ride him).

I find myself apologizing to my horse a lot, LOL. “Sorry, bud.” and “Oops, my fault, buddy.” and “Oh! I’m so sorry! You’re such a good boy!”

Thank goodness horses are forgiving creatures.

Translation: MY HORSE isn’t the problem! YOU and YOUR DAUGHTER are the problems.

Yeah, you’re lucky you talked it out with them and convinced them not to kick you out. I’d bet you they were seriously considering it. In the future, sleep on it a day or two (especially over Christmas while they’re dealing with serious family stuff) before essentially calling them incompetent. That’ll go over better.

Ack. I’m still posting. I’ve got to let it go. It’s just…kind of entertaining. Kind of irritating. I don’t know.

Happy MLK Day!

That’s how all these threads go. It’s so fascinating to watch the unhinged flip flopping and berating anyone who dares to have an opposing opinion. The lack of self-awareness is… Astonishing really.

All excellent questions

Honestly OP this barn doesn’t sound like a good fit for you. You might be better off at a barn with more experienced staff and a management that you can communicate with. Family will almost always win over friends . So if push comes to shove they will choose their daughter over a boarder. Add in fact that you will be held responsible if your horse hurts their kid and it’s a recipe for you getting kicked out .

Hey @RhythmNCruise

Your questions were answered upthread. Sorry you missed them.

My horse isn’t the problem, although you insist that he is. Such is the problem with COTH. Such an irritating post.

all answered although you don’t seem to know.

Such BS. You seem to support crazy narratives that fit individual posters’ rants. I don’t. I agree, it’s so fascinating to see where posters will drive a subject to. Pretty astonishing, really.

The only crazy narratives in this thread are from you, frankly. But it’s pretty clear from your posts on multiple subjects on this bulletin board that you are living in your own little world, and no amount of reasoning with you is effective. Bless those posters for trying though, and instead of reasonable dialogue, they get crazy rants from you in reply.
