26 lb fox trapped after killing family cat.
Dang - that thing is almost as big as a coyote.
I had no idea cats were that nutritious.
Vulpes Vulpes can’t breed with other canids, right? Do I see no white tip on its tail?
Sure is beautiful - would love to have that mount.

Nope they cant and don’t breed with any other candid[that I know of].
They do not all have a white tip on their tail.
I must admit I did wonder if the smaller fox used in the comparison, had been kept in the freezer for a while, because it looks as though it is ending it’s moult, whereas the big guy is in full coat.
I see poetic justice on the horizon for hunt saboteurs in the UK.
“Foxzilla,” the headline will read.
:lol::lol::lol:
“Foxzilla”
Love it - hide the kitties! I hope some of the little old lady pet lovers will think about that the next time a crazy asks to modify their will.
Around here we look for the white tip to tell them from the Grays - I see that one has just a weee bit. So even if they are black, that’s the conventional wisdom.
Of course, you know from the run what it is, but when we have a view. . .
He was a beauty, shame they killed him for doing what comes naturally. Maybe now they will re instate foxhunting?
No, foxes can not inter breed with dogs, coyotes, wolves, etc, only among their own species.

That fox was huge!
WOW!!! 26 lbs! Hide your wife, hide your kids…:lol::lol:

ooh they do eat cats, i lost my cat to a fox years in 1988
i found all bits and fur funny thing is he was also old, so dunno if its ther age they just ar not as quick on their feet,
but that dog fox is huge and maidstone 7 miles from me but there is loads of hunts , shoots, and tons of acreage of woods and fields that surrounds maidstone town
Nope!
I’m sorry but I just don’t believe he’s a fox. I think he’s built much more like a dog. Heavy looking. Black points are not uncommon in huskie mixes as well as that color. Ditto the coat. And I’ve seen coyotes that looked exactly like that. Had to look for awhile to even tell what they are.
Nope, doesn’t work for me but…LOVE the foxzilla comment!

good one
Certainly has the features of a fox. I agree it is kind of a creepy thought for a Fox to kill your pet cat…
Definetely a fox.
Not a town fox though,he is very fat, healthy and in good coat.

Except that we’re ok with our cats killing mice/rats/birds. If they’re going to participate in the food chain, there’s no half-way.
Yes if you don’t want your cat eaten by something, keep them inside. It’s the only way.
We have foxes that big here, they aren’t common but they aren’t super rare either. I would think that having plenty of food to eat in that area would contribute to foxes getting bigger, just like people have!
Gorgeous fox. It was just doing what animals do…getting some dinner. It is a carnivore and a cat looked like easy pickin’s.
Was anyone else disturbed that it seems common for people to leave their babies outside to sleep in their perambulators? Honestly have to doubt that comment.
Agree, cats and foxes go at it all the time. When I was a kid, our local fox took out an entire litter of kittens and their mom in our barn hay loft. Also took out our old guy who decided it was his job to take that fox out.
So yes, kitties must be kept inside if you want to ensure their safety.
