Hunt bridle: small Welsh pony hunter

I have two questions about bridles for some small Welsh pony hunters with small heads:

–Is there a brand that makes a “flat,” hunting-style snaffle bridle in sizes small enough for a small pony (12.2) with a petite head?

–If there are no flat bridles in this size on the market, what brands do people recommend for show quality, raised bridles that would fit a small pony hunter with a petite head?

Thanks everyone.

Bartville might. I have a flat bridle for my 14hh welsh mare. She has a really petite head and it is on the larger setting. It could probably fit a small, but may look a tad bulky. I think they make a smaller one than this…

Bobby’s English Tack. They go down as small as “Shetland” size.

Just for Ponies has several options for small headed ponies.

I second checking out Just for Ponies. Excellent website for those petite-headed ones.

We do a lot of pony hunters. Highly recommend www.justforponies.com Beautifully fitting tack for ponies and wonderful leather.

Is there a reason you want a flat bridle though? They aren’t particularly popular in the show ring anymore.

Thanks, everyone, for the leads. These ponies will do hunter paces and fox hunt, and only a handful of horse shows…so I am old fashioned, but I try to do flat tack when possible. It is a challenge, though–so is trying to find plain flap close contact saddles, but that is for another thread!

People looking for flat tack are usually fox hunters, where it is most correct. Horse show popularity is not a factor.

Didn’t realize she was talking about hunting bridle, figured she was thinking show. I have seen a few in catalogues. I personally don’t like the look, but I know they’re made.
