Two hunts…Loudoun Hunt and West Loudoun Hunt, close to each other, one spun from the other.
Anyone acquainted with these hunts and suggestions of which to join?

Go cap in with both of them and make up your own mind instead of relying on rumors, hearsay, etc.
Both have superb huntsmen - unrivaled - and both have excellent packs.
Both have diminished territory.
There have been hopeful rumblings of reuniting the two someday.
If I lived up there I’d hunt with both. I can’t think of any reason not to.
jmho!
Past member of the LH’s here. Both are victims of the horrible development up there. So sad. LHW has more fixtures/land right now and is a larger hunt. But LH smaller and terrific for getting started hunting as a novice. I suggest you hunt w/both capping then decide later. LH cheaper btw. Both extremely friendly, great masters, good packs, good huntsmen.
The real difference is the size/amounts of land they have. There are some commonly hunted territories too. There may be associate memberships available too. THAT would be the way to go if you wanna hunt a lot with them. Either way; go - just go! Have fun and report back!

Not really relying on anything, it’s always nice to hear from people who have knowledge about different groups.
Have only car followed a couple of times with Loudoun West since moving to Utah in 1995. But, hunted with both back in the day and whipped in to Bay Cockburn at Loudoun West.
I have hunted with both of the current huntsmen elsewhere and they show good sport. The loss of territory is sickening- despite all those bumper stickers back in the 80s, Loudoun DID get Fairfaxed.
My first experience with hunting was with Bay. Miss those days. He’s now mostly connected to Piedmont.
