Hunt Princess Logo Contest

OK I have been asked to post the picture from the March Hunting Princess Party on the forum but there’s an icky odd green ghost in the front of the frame (maybe a plant that was sitting on Whicker’s counter-not sure!).

I can’t cut it out without cutting out important people soooo I was thinking if I had a logo I could get Mr Lesson13 to photoshop it over the blemish and we could use the logo for future events…

Are any of you princesses graphically inclined?

Options for our logo include a whip, pearls, tiara, riding cap, liquor, and possibly a hound, horse, or fox.

If nobody enter’s y’all will just have to suffer my bad calligraphy and overly detailed drawings…

Starting ideas for inspiration

You all might take a look at the Chronicle’s magazine cover art. It would give you a place to start with the artwork.

Edging might have the feather boas and the pink sparkley flasks.

Prince Brad is a latin Scholar, so he can translate the motto for us.

Might include his helmet and sword on the shield at the top.
Oh, and please photo shop out ALL the wrinkles and shadows under our eyes…:lol:

Hi y’all. Sorry, long-time lurker of this particular board. Thought I’d pop in as I’ve been a graphic designer for 10+ years.

Is the photo completely FUBAR’d or is it just one specific area?

Not sure I’d have the time to do a logo, but I could see if I could fix/help the photo. Just a thought.

how I picture the logo…the jolly huntress

I think the hunting prinicess logo should be be a take on the “jolly roger” which would strike fear in the hearts of men when they saw that on the high seas…I’ll call it the “jolly huntress” (and it would still strike fear in the hearts of men… on the high horses)…

inplace of the skull, a helmet with a tiara , but with the center point jewel of the tiara as a flask. Where the cross bones would be, one would be a hunt whip, the other would be a princess wand witht the sparkly star. Encircling the “jolly huntress” logo would be a circle of pearls…

maybe a phrase like: “for hunting, hilarity and happiness” ?

What great FUN, BBTb!:lol::lol:

Opus1,
I’m delighted that you felt safe in joining us in the creative effort! Please post often! We love having lurkers join us in the mayhem of repartee. Have some more koolaid, m’dear, and conjure the magic!

Here’s my 10 minute entry

Created in Microsoft Publisher…still trying to figure out how to save the entire image as a jpg file, but wanted to get it up since the competition is going to be a tuff one!

ETA: Figured it out

COTH.jpg

ooo! Whose glittery tiara is that? I think I want that in my closet… I like how the pearl tips look like they have had some of the pink sparkley flask libation… Everything on that crown dances…

arrrrrrg. god, you’ve made it impossible not to out myself. I have a MASTER’S in graphic design, no less. Which means I should be able to muscle a buddy of mine from grad school into doing a truly professional job of this, no sweat.:lol:

Actually, I really LOVE BBTb’s concept - be happy to take a crack at it as soon as I can drag myself away from my HORSE - we’ve finally got some decent weather, I’ve got a new saddle, and my boy is feeling goooooood, so no promises til it rains again - which so far has been at least every other day :sigh:

And that’s not to say I expect to trump sar’s 10 minute Publisher triumph (all I ever do at work anymore, 10 minute design kills) or Opus’s efforts. Experience whups education every time, and you’ve been a practioner for way longer than I was.

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone!

Awww. You say experience, I say burned out. Getting ready to ditch it in favor of another career actually.

Besides, my volunteering was more or less for the photo and helping reconstruct part of it, if needed.

Oh, I also quite liked BBTB’s suggestion.

I tried my hand at a quick sketch, and I can save it as a .pdf, but can’t figure out how to attach it…if anyone else knows how, I can email it to you. It would require someone else’s loving touch to turn it into a graphic though, I’m badly out of practice at this sort of thing.

I can picture the huntress logo in my minds eye perfectly…I just haven’t had the time to get it on paper. I did think of another addition. on the helmet, under the tiara, the hunting fox head logo…incase anyone wonders what type of princess… LOL…

Hinderella, email it to me @ oakhollowva@aol.com. I will attach it for you

Done…thanks, sar2008 !

Hinderella’s submission.

I love this

HUNT PRINCESS LOGO.jpg

Nice! I approve!

And Opus, I hear you on the burnout thing. My primary skill set was as a 3D animator; with one other person I invented a way to fake a caustic shader in Maya before they wrote a plug in for it, and my mind hasn’t been right since. I sometimes tell my nephews who think they’d “like” to make computer games stories of what it’s really like in the lab - stalking undergraduates to see if they’re going to throw their McDonald’s away so I could go back later and fish it out of the trash can. Because you don’t. Ever. Leave. The Lab. No one “likes” making games - except the publishers. Anyway, congrats on your career change - best thing I ever did. And weirdly enough, 3 librarians at my library are ex-graphic designers.

My Dearest Princess Mortabella I did not mean to retraumatize you…

Sar2008 & Hinderella truly awesome! We need a few more to make it a real contest.

No, Lesson13, I’m safe in my library now and can’t be retraumatized. I just point at the software and squeek. But you’ll notice - no logo from me. Oh, I’ll get around to it…and I probably really will. I refuse to remove the software from my computer. But do I use it? Except for Photoshop, noooooooooooo…but it is true what they told us about Photoshop, it is the Swiss Army knife of digital life.
