Hey folks -
How does one re attach a ferrule on a hunt whip?
Without making a mess with glue or ruining the whip. (which is why I’m staring at it instead of tackling it with whatever epoxy or glue I can find in the house)
Thanks.

Umm, not sure. But I would suggest calling Smoky Everhart to ask him if no one else has a good suggestion. Let me know if you want his ph #.
Yes please. It looks like it would be easy to fix it, which probably means it’s easy to screw it up royally.
Thanks so much.
Please post the number or PM me as well. My whip will need some repair work done in the near future.
I think you’d have to inject epoxy under it or pin it. Failing that, take everything undone and fit a slightly smaller one.

Good craftsmanship and great service.
J - What type metal is the ferrule? Nickel, silver, brass? I would think someone who works with metal - perhaps a jeweler - would be able to fix it?
Tony who owns Virginia Saddlery should be able to fix it (he does saddle repairs for many manufacturers rather than having the saddle shipped back overseas for repair). He also makes custom bridles, does saddle and leather repair, etc. Top Notch work and several of the Deep Run Hunt Club members regularly use him - most recently to make up a bunch of radio cases for staff.
