Hunter bridle/martingale favorite

CWD, Hadfields, Pesso, etc?

Hadfields, Edgewood, Antares, I loved all of them. My CWD was also beautiful.

I love my Edgewoods. Was not super impressed with the CWD leather quality, so I sold that one.

I got a CWD bridle at Landrover KY in the discount bin and I was super disappointed in the leather quality. That being said, I have 2 Bib martingales and a bridge breastplate from CWD and they are absolutely lovely.

I have 2 Butet bridles and they are by far the nicest and highest quality leather. Actually my dressage horse has an Antares and hers is right in line with the Butet. I love love love both of these brands bridles. Miles above the rest.

I have a really nice Antares for my large pony. I love that bridle!! I wish they made them smaller for my mediums…

Love my Antares standing martingale and bridle. I use them everyday as well as showing and they have held up really well.

I have a huge amount of bridles and martingales, and I’ve really liked my older Crosbys (now sold under the name Exselle), older Bevals and Dover Wellington (made by Jeffries), Edgewood/New Cavalry, Hadfield’s, and Jimmy’s (whose son makes similar tack under the name Bennett’s Hunter Fine Bridles). I also have and like HK Americana, Moritz, Ovation, and Joseph Sterling.

I’ve used my older Crosbys the most and think they’re hard to beat in terms of longevity, durability, quality, and price. They’re a great value, and I’m sure the Exselles that are made in the same factory are as well. I think my most beautiful bridles are my Dover Wellington, Hadfield’s, Beval New Canaan, and Jimmy’s 20th Century.
