Hunter Farms in Princeton, NJ ??

Is there anybody that can tell me more about Hunter Farms out of Princeton, NJ? Why does it seem that they are always looking for help, are they that hard to work for? Figured I’d ask here before applying. Thank for your help!

It’s funny looking at this old question from the archives 2010-it’s 2013 and they still can’t keep help but the answer is quite simple.

I saw this too. I never apply to their job postings because it’s the same listing over and over…

The horse business is hard work.

The answer to this question is really quite simple. Andrew works closely with a groom training program that brings college age people with experience to the US for 1 year on J-1 visas. He is always looking for people, as these people are short term employees. Andrew gives employment opportunities to people 20-25 years old. This is a very unsettled time in most people’s lives so it can be very transient. Many college riding program graduates looking for a start in the horse business get a chance at places like Hunter Farms. Unfortunately many underestimate their value, skill set, and the amount of plain hard work the horse business is. Many move on (or are asked to move on) when they realize the job is a job and not just an opportunity to ride and show.

Is it really necessary to dredge through the archives and bump every thread about this barn with the same cut and paste reply?

Too funny!!! I was thinking the same thing. better send this person the diva also

I didn’t realize until just now that the Hunter Farms defender (Carrolstreet with 2 posts) was the one that dredged through the archives to post the response … too funny!

That pretty much confirms everything I’ve heard about the Hunter Farms’ management/operation/etc… For what it’s worth, in my opinion, just a tad neurotic.

The J-1 visa excuse is absolutely not true—at least it wasn’t in the mid-2010s

The thread that never dies
