Hunter jumper barn Biloxi or Gulfport?

Got a PM from someone mistakenly thinking I was interested in a barn in the Biloxi area. Not sure if you got one as well so I’ll just send you the information that was sent to me.

Does anyone know anything close to those areas in Alabama or Louisiana?

I messaged a friend in the Mobile area and she said they have a couple more towards the Baldwin County area. Biloxi/Gulfport is primarily Dressage and Eventing barns. I’m sure they have something over in Louisiana. About an hour from Biloxi in Folsom, Louisiana is what we call horse country down here. Either way, both are going to be at least an hour drive for you.

There’s a Foxwood Farm in Saucier, about 30 min from Gulfport. They’re a HJ facility

Hi. Did he recommend any specific eventing barns??

Sending you a PM.

Well, Gulfport and Biloxi are pretty much in the same area and there’s not a big population in general or whole lot of people with a whole lot of Hunter/ Jumper show horses to support those trainers around there. You will probably need to drive closer to a bigger city for that. Looks like either east towards Alabama or west to Louisiana are your options right now.

Investigate the new places and get on waiting lists if you have to.

will do. Bummer, wish I didn’t have to travel so far. I’ve looked at a few of the places near Biloxi and Gulfport online. Some of them seem kind of iffy. A few I found are super expensive. So, I guess I’ll have to go more towards Alabama and Lousiaina.

Try Sean Steffee on FB. He was based in Kiln, MS as more of a private trainer, but he was at gulfport showing with his wife this year. His website is super outdated. Not sure if he is doing it full time anymore, but worth asking.

Sean and his wife are training out of Pine Ally farm in Folsom LA. They have a Facebook page. I would also recommend looking at Fox Ridge Farm in Folsom, owned by TJ LaBlanc

Yea, I thought about TJ’s place, but it’s really really far away. :frowning:

I’m looking more towards Mobile now. Anything great up in that area?
