Hunter jumper barn Biloxi or Gulfport?

moving to Mississippi in May. Looking for a competitive hunter jumper barn in Biloxi or Gulfport or somewhere close to those areas

Any ideas?

You might try contacting the local hunter/jumper associations in the area and see if they can’t point you in the right direction.

The closest competitive barn is going to be Holly Shepherd’s Accolade Farms in Grand Bay, AL. About 45 min from Biloxi on the interstate. You will have 6-7 weeks of winter circuit in your back yard though!

I still haven’t found anything :frowning:

Did you make any calls? Did the MHJA or GCHJA have no suggestions? You may, unfortunately, just have to travel further. Closer to Mobile, AL may have something if you are willing to drive +/- an hour.

how far is mobile from Gulfport ?

Just over an hour… depending on exactly where you are and traffic.

Aww man :(. There’s nothing closer? It’s just he’s already so far away from me currently. The only two I found online were biavenue acres and singing rivers.

Did you call the associations suggested? There may be places that don’t have a big online presence that they can tell you about.

Agree with outsidersopinion - Holly Shepherd and Accolade Farm in Grand Bay, AL, right across the border of MS and AL - not far from Gulfport or Biloxi. She shows at the Gulfport circuit in February and March - AA horse shows, as said above, right in your back yard.

I was in Gulfport and at Bienvenue a few years back, during the classic series. honestly, there’s very very little in that immediate area when the circuit isn’t there, which is why my partner and I decided against relocating there.

The farm was owned at the time by a largely absentee owner (she lived in Nola), and the property management there was greatly in flux. she was an interesting women, and I mean that positively, but it was not a professional operation, and trainers were in and out and not of consistent quality or focus. her own horse had been with a trainer in Kentucky. ownership may have changed though? at the time she offered to lease purchase the property.

it was cute, the barn was airy, and the turnout areas were good but if you’re looking for a vibrant training and show scene Gulfport might not be the place.

There is one opening! About 45 mins from the show grounds in Poplarville.

Honor Hill Farms is the name. Currently under construction.

Ok. That’s good to know. What would you recommend?

She told me she was full

Great! Is there a phone number or website? I’m having trouble finding much online

On FB. I’ll PM you the info.

It is Holly’s old assistant. If I were you I’d drive the 45 minutes to Holly’s

She’s completely full.

She suggested TJ Leblanc’s place. However, when I looked it up on google it’s 1.5+ hours to get there from
Gulfport. I think that’s much to far
