I am an adult rider who is getting back into riding after 15 years away. I started riding with a barn in Westchester and it doesn’t seem to be the right fit. Ideally I would like to begin showing Hunters in another year or so and looking for a trainer who is great with adult riders and can help bring me along.
I highly recommend Kim and Caroline Perlman at Riverstone, operating out of Freedom Hill Farm in Patterson NY (just north of the Westchester border). Caroline in particular specializes in adult hunter riders, and has recently brought along a lady very similar to you (away from riding for 15 years) with tremendous success. They also have a client still showing super successfully in the Modified Hunters who is in her 80s! They emphasize safety and suitability and offer excellent instruction.
