Hunter/Jumper Barn/Trainer Nashville Area

Does anybody have any recommendations for a hunter/jumper barn in the Nashville area? I currently do the 1.00 jumpers at ‘A’ shows in southern California and would like to find a barn that has similar program. I am moving there all the way from southern California, so any suggestions are helpful!

I live in west TN, so don’t know that many trainers in Nashville, but maybe check out David Wright at Hunter’s Court. I know they do many of the A and AA shows in my area, and though I don’t personally know anyone that rides with him, I know he always has several people showing. Good luck! I hope you love Nashville, I plan to move there as well when I finish college in a few years

I have a friend who rides a Benchmark Farms with Martin Klein in Franklin, TN. Not too sure how far you are willing to drive, but Franklin isn’t far!

Check into who is training out at Brownland Farm in Franklin

I second Martin Klein at Benchmark in College Grove (not Franklin, but more between Franklin and Murfreesboro). I ride with him when I can trailer over there.

Web page a little dated, but still gives a good idea.

Website for Hunter’s Court is www.hunterscourt.com. Nice place and very well-run. Brownland Farm is beautiful, and the website is www.brownlandfarm.com.

Brownland does not have an indoor and the outdoor rings are not lighted. That’s a problem for some working people. However, if you like to show, they have several rated shows each year.

My pick in the area would definitely be David Wright. His riders do very well and he is a genuinely nice guy.
Brownland is my favorite show facility, but I believe Sue who owns the facility and trains out of there does a lot if pony kids. She may have other clients and I might have missed them, but she is very nice too.

I second David Wright. He also helps a young pro named Miguel Ventura who we know from the shows and really like. They are both great guys. David Jennings works out of Brownland Farm and has a lot of jumper students, but they go to FL in the winter I believe. Nashville/Franklin is great. We LOVE showing at Brownland. It is a nice friendly atmosphere and offers something for everyone. Good luck with your move!

David wright is a very nice guy but I think he is having some health problems. Not sure how much he is riding. David Jennings is a crook and took my friend for $ and sold her a bad horse. Stay away

David just rode in the Hunter Derby Finals, looked quite healthy to me. He is absolutely my first recommendation.

Seconded.

From David’s Facebook, on Aug. 7:

“To dispel some untrue gossip I have heard lately: Regarding my condition, as Mark Twain said, “The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated!” I’m doing great, riding and teaching, showing both hunters and jumpers at Kentucky (one jumper that I’m close to doing in a Grand Prix!), and preparing to show 2 awesome horses at Derby Finals next week! Life with the Hunters Court Team is good!!!”

Nashville

David’s horses and kids are always well preped and turned out. Speaking of Nashville, does anyone know where Are Coomes is?
