Hunter/Jumper barns in the NE Cincinnati area

We are moving to the NE Cincinnati area and will be looking for a facility for my 16 y/o daughter to train and board her horse. She is currently doing a few A and AA shows and a few local C shows a year at the 2’9”-3’0” level and is looking to move into junior hunters.

Any recommendations for a quality program and facility in a 20-25 mile radius of the Mason area would be helpful in our search. Our timeline is myself going in November and hopefully the rest of the family by mid to late January. Thank you in advance for all your help.

Check out Aubrey Sears’ program, Milestone Equestrian. https://www.facebook.com/MilestoneEq/

Might be a hike, but Walnut Creek Stables has always been pretty highly rated and I’ve known some riders who board there on and off again. It’s been years since I lived in Cinci though, but I grew up there and rode!

A good friend of mine rides with Amy Rosell at Win Row Farm. She has had nothing but excellent things to say about Amy’s training program and how her horse is cared for there.

Edit: Realized that that link I had provided was busted.

Second Aubrey Sears at Milestone Equestrian. IIRC its in Goshen, she always has a great group of good looking horses and happy clients with not much drama.

Amy is also good, Win Row is right off 48 in Lebanon…unless they’ve moved. Maybe David Biesel, No, he’s not dead or crippled despite a very bad fall but no idea how much business he’s able to handle.

Anyway, OP, you need to go visit each prospective trainer, watch them teach, meet some of their clients and visit them to observe how they coach at shows to make an informed decision. Take your time, do your homework.

You are lucky, the Fall shows at WEC North are coming up soon and 40 min up the road from Mason. Most local trainers will be there.

BTW, the MacClay Medal Finals should be coming up in the next two weeks at the KHP, check that out. Great learning opportunity.

Thank you everyone for the replies so far. I plan on doing some barn tours and watching a lesson or two. And yes we know that David is doing well. It is good to know that WEC is doing the fall series as that will give me more options.

I live just on the edge of Mason in Loveland and my horse is in Lebanon—happy to PM you details on the program!

I’ve been in the area since 2006 so if you have any questions just let me know.
