Hunter/jumper barns in the Tampa FL area?

Hi all!

I’ve recently relocated to the Tampa area for Graduate School and am looking for a hunter/jumper barn in the North Tampa, Lutz, or Wesley Chapel area. Anywhere within a 30 minute commute, really. I’ve been riding for upwards of 20 years and used to do a lot of showing in the Orlando area before going away to Virginia for college and doing the IHSA circuit all four years. I started in the hunters, then moved to the eq and ended up in the jumpers but I’ve also dabbled in dressage and eventing. I did a lot more training than showing just before college, especially with ottbs. I definitely prefer jumpers to hunters but recently had to take a year off riding due to injury and have really only been out on trails the last 18 months. I used to show 3ft+ Jumpers with my gelding who is retired so I’m not looking for a place that’s going to send me bad to basics but I definitely want to start riding again and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. I’ve never done any of the big huge shows, but I do love showing and would love to be competitive locally again. However grad school does put me on a budget so a big show barn might not be an option. Id love to find a place that gives lessons and has a bunch of horses that need to be hacked but I know not to expect to be that lucky! I did see a few posts about the Tampa area but they were upwards of 2 years old so I hope this is alright.

Any input would be much appreciated!
Thank you!

Contact Alicia from Barrington Hill Farm. She is in Dade City and if you drive on the interstate at all you have probably passed her farm. It is truly breathtaking. PM me for her contact info if interest.

Thanks so much! PMed you.

Try Kingsmeade Farm in Lutz. I’m in South Tampa so its a bit far from me, but very convenient to North Tampa/USF area. Have heard good things about the trainer and her horses from multiple people. Good luck!

I’ll definitely give them a call!! Thanks so much for the recommendation.

Mary and Kevin at ravenwood farm in palm harbor were by far my favorite when I lived down there. highly recommended! Good luck
