Hunter/Jumper Boarding and Lessons near KC, Missouri

Hi everyone, I am moving from South Carolina to Lee’s Summit, Missouri this summer. Any suggestions for hunter boarding and lessons in that area? Thank you!

How far are you willing to drive? There are plenty of HJ barns in the area. I can’t seem to find the search forums option, but I know there are a lot of topics about KCMO area.

I tried to send you a pm, bit not sure with the new format if it went through.

There is a MO Hunter Jumper Assoc but their web site currently does not have a barn directory http://www.mohjo.org/

West End is amazing

Not sure if you are truly looking for a hunter (as in run with the hounds) barn or an H/J show barn. If it is the first, Settler’s Acres is in the Lee’s Summit area and is run by a MFH and his wife. Their son is a GP rider on the A circuit so the training is decent, but the focus is on eventing and hunting. White Fox Manor is not far from Lee’s Summit in Olathe. It is county owned, but managed by top H/J folks and several quality trainers operate there (Jane Schweiger for one, but she is slowing her business to a more select group). Kirin Farms is another in the area that does a great job and has many A circuit horses/riders. The KC riding community is great and very supportive. It was a pleasure to grow up riding there.

Thanks! I will most likely be living in the Lee’s Summit area. I would be willing to drive up to 45 minutes (longer if the place is absolutely perfect).
