Hunter/Jumper Rules of NSBA

Has anyone actually read the new rules for hunters and jumpers in the National Snaffle Bit Association? Very interesting. Amateurs (Non-Pro) are not allowed to have judged in the past three years. Junior age is counted as of January 1st, not December 1st. Juniors 14 and under can show small and medium ponies. Green pony fence heights are lower than USEF green pony fence heights.

Will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Interesting, especially about the ponies. Will showing in NSB not break a ponies green fir USEF? If so, that’s the new “show miles in Canada” for a fancy pony.

Green status is not affected by anything that happens at any show that is not recognized by either USEF or EC. The pony could do the Grand Prix at WEC and still be eligible green with the USEF. From the rule book:

HU 139
6. Green Pony Status.
a. A green pony is a pony not exceeding 14.2 hands of any age, which is eligible to compete in the Green Pony section. A pony’s Green Hunter eligibility, regardless of age, begins the first time the pony competes in any over fences class with jumps at 2’3” or higher for small ponies, 2’6” or higher for medium ponies and 2’9” or higher for large ponies in Hunter or Hunter/Jumping Seat Equitation classes or sections held at a Federation or Equine Canada Licensed competition in North America.

If you happen to stumble across one that could do this, I’m in the market
