Hunter Trial Trophy, what would you prefer?

In a nutshell, I’m going to do a “Best lady rider on a Qualified Hunter” trophy for the annual hunter trials. Since a great many of the riders have stirrup cups, trophies, etc, consider this an informal preference poll. I’ve narrowed it down to the following, each will be engraved with the event, class, date, etc.

Silver tray

Waterford type vase

Champagne bucket style trophy, either with a base with a plaque or without and engraved.

I would think the person who wins will be an “ehem” mature lady whose home is already decorated and may have awards from the past, so I’d like to do something that won’t be just chucked in the cupboard.

Of those 3, I would take them in this order:

  1. Engraved champagne bucket (dual purpose)
  2. Engraved silver tray (always looks great in the trophy case)
  3. Waterford-type vase (just because I have so many vases, and not really any more room to put them anywhere!)

GREAT choices, btw…

I would like any of the things mentioned, but I think most mature ladies have an assortment of vases.

One of my favorite “trophies” is an engraved picture frame with a photo taken over one of the fences on the course.

I like the champagne bucket because it can easily be a flowerpot holder, and I bet most mature ladies have a few flowers in their windows. It might be an easier way of making space on a crowded mantle or coffee table if it can hold a flower pot.

Love the photoframe idea, but that is a better individual award, not a perpetual trophy.
