Hunters trainers Tryon

I’m a dressage rider moving to Tryon. I believe I’ve found a few great options for dressage trainers, but I am looking for a H/J barn for my 5 year old daughter to start learning to ride. She’s been doing leadline and a little lungeline walk trot on a young large pony that we have. The pony is 4 so barely started but saintly. She’s going to be an amazing hunter when she’s older. So I’m looking for a trainer who can start my mare over fences when the time comes and also one who has lesson ponies and can teach my daughter to ride. We bought a farm in Tryon on the FETA trails and are about 8 minutes from downtown Landrum.

I believe there is a Tryon Area Equestrian page on Facebook you may want to post in.

Motlow and clear view are probably the first two places people will send you. From there, both are busy enough programs that if you visit and say “thanks but I’m looking more for…” they should have no reservations making a referral to another barn because they don’t need to fight for a client that isn’t going to be happy.

I think Theresa Tholar is near there. She would be excellent for your pony and your child. Her barn is Our Main Gate. She was a very successful junior and she worked with the Towells before going out on her own.
