Hunting at 93!

Today was Farmington’s final meet of the season, and we were delighted to have Elliewood Baxter out with us (yes, mounted and looking spectacular). I wouldn’t mention her age, except that she is such a living legend that I believe her birthdate is in the public domain. That’s your 1936 Maclay winner, for the young’uns. She stayed out nearly the full day and hounds “honored” her with some fine singing on obliging foxes.

May we all enjoy our horses, hounds, friends and the countryside so enthusiastically into our tenth decade!

Wow! She’s an inspiration.

Wow, good horse and good on her!

She was out with Farmington the very first time I hunted, fall of 1971- and I would daresay she still out-rides 95% of us mere mortal foxhunters.

Amazing!! She is a legend in the foxhunting world! Hats off to her for still keeping up with the hounds at such a venerable age.

We should all be so lucky.

Big smile here.

Tears to me eyes! I hope Ill be throwin a leg over at her age!

she has been an inspiration to my kids who have grown up riding behind her in the FHC field.

She’s just a little junior to my neighbor and dear friend Melvin Poe, still hunting his own hounds at age 93 1/2.

Inspirational is the only way to describe her, I hope she has many more years in the hunt field.
