Hunting on Exmoor

I am new to this forum, but the hunting section seems the best place for me to start, since thats what we and our horses do

Hunting on Exmoor

Oh that’s fabulous! I have still photos from my time hunting with Exmoor in the late 80’s. Ronnie Wallace was there! It was absolutely the best hunting ever. It always amazed me that those horses were sound as rocks despite the uneven and deep footing :lol:

Some of the comments as you were going down the lane sounded like the beginning of a French and Saunders routine. :lol:

I loved watching the hounds working when I was there. Perhaps the highlight of the entire day, except for the ride in pub lunch :winkgrin:

Ah, Yes! I went out with the Devon and Sommerset StagsHounds, the D&S Foxhounds, and The Quantocks.

One time I was riding a horse named Frodo, I let him get between a Honda Pilot and a bank, and Frodo decided to tun around in the confined space and used his hock to permanently push in the rear passenger side door. I had to pay for that! Fortunately Frodo was all right.

Thanks for the welcome - interesting that some of you have hunted here You’re right about hounds - watching them is one of the great joys of hunting here.

Went down to kennels yesterday to see the puppies we walked last year - can’t wait to see them out in August - only a few weeks to go
