Hi there, I just settled into the Crestview, Fl area near Pensacola. I’m currently riding with a hunter trainer out here and I think I’d like to experience Fox Hunting as well! I have to admit after reading several novels that it’s sunk it’s teeth in and it’s something I’m going to do in the inevitable future. I’m able to access several states from where I am but I would like to keep travel within a 200mile radius. I doubt I’ll be able to do it frequently unless there’s something very close but I’d love to come out occassionaly.

You can check the list of hunts in your area on www.mfha.org. Or you can check out the thread about the fall CotH hunt and travel to VA to try hunting. You’ll be sure to make new friends, and perhaps hear about hunts near you.

There aren’t any hunts “near” Crestview. Live Oak Hounds, a private pack (but generous with their invitations for riders who are well suited) is 30 minutes east of Tallahassee…
Midland, another fantastic hunt, hunts often in Fitzpatrick AL and Columbus, GA…again 3 or 4 hours from you
And Mooreland is in Huntsville, AL.
There may be smaller, easier hunts closer to you. All three of the above are amont the most respected hunts in the US…but well worth seeing if you are interested in seeing the big world of hunting!
