I am seriously looking into Findlay, but anyboy went there or knows more about it?

I am interested in their western program. It would be next fall. I know it is going to be expensive, but is it somewhat worth it? I did some digging on the trainers that are professors they seem to be big in the AQHA, and Paint horse world. I myself am mostly interested in cutting, and reining. I am looking into becoming a working student, but still part of me wants to go to college, and I have made some promises to family,

There are many successful graduates of the Findlay program in the stock horse world. Findlay hires qualified relevant instructors and gets some nice horses in the program. The most successful graduates also major in business or finance to have the necessary skill set to run their own training business or find gainful employment in a non-relevant field. I’ve sent several quality horses through the program to get time and milage and have enjoyed all my interactions with the student population. The university can help you get internships with some of the top trainers in the industry and the networking is invaluable. Your milage will vary based on how good you are and how bad you want it, no different than anywhere else in the industry. Good luck! One helpful tidbit, Findaly sits in a valley and gets lots of snow and ice in the winter, be ready

I toured Findlay and was looking into their English Riding major and their Animal Science Major. I really loved both the English and Western barns and a lot of the professors, the school is small (very very very small) and very female focused (3 of the 6 on campus dorms are female only) and also they are very academic at least in Animal Science. For those reasons, I chose not to go there but it was a lovely school. Absolutely freezing when I went there but a lovely school.

Also, if you are looking for Equine Science schools, check out Colorado State. That’s where I am and I love it!

I’ve sent horses there & was very pleased with them, the student trainers keeping in touch & keeping me updated, and the staff for the same. They are very thorough, try very hard to please, and whilst not every student is going to be a ‘rock star’ of a trainer, quite a large number of them are very, very successful upon graduation. Both myself & my husband attended an equine college, and we’ve both said numerous times that we wish we’d gone to Findlay.
