I did a thing....

I sure did  Hope you;ve got your full seat sticky breeches handy heehee!

Ugh I can’t with that photo, her sweet face. I beg you for regular updates once she arrives home. I will fully subscribe to any update thread, social media stream, etc that you may have!

Ahh! I was drooling over her pictures when she was posted; I’m a sucker for a mare, big ears, and a fancy TB and she sure checks all the boxes. I hope you will post plenty of updates for us to follow along!

Also as a window shopper with a penchant for TBs, I’ve been curious about Ballyclare and would love to hear about your experience with them. I am always amazed at how many nice-looking horses they seem to have!

Nola sounds like a great idea! Those ears are ridiculous. I love them.

What a lovely young mare, congratulations! She looks like a Nadia to me.

She arrived yesterday and is absolutely perfect! She is a big, lanky baby and her head is ginormous. She walked right off of the trailer and into the barn like she had lived there forever, and went directly to her hay to dig in.

If anyone is interested in keeping up with her progress, you can follow me on instagram @Nola_OTTB  (As you can see, we went with Nola for her name!)

Well then, congratulations on your new mare! She is VERY pretty!! And it’s always a good idea to let them help you name them.

Best of luck with your new girl!

Those ears are EVERYTHING. I love them. Followed you on ig, can’t wait to see her grow up (but hopefully not into the ears!).

Oh wow! I just revisited this thread and looked at her pedigree. Two crosses of Broad Brush!!! My favorite mare (shhh, don’t tell the others) was a Broad Brush mare and reading your description is like deja vu. My mare was tall, rangy and had a large really beautiful head with a straight profile. She also had big ears. The main thing about her was her goofy personality. She was extremely friendly, almost like a gelding in her affectionate and curious ways. She also had a big, beautiful trot and a super ground-covering big walk. Loved her.

Congrats on the quarantine purchase. She is absolutely lovely. I followed her on instagram so I can see more photos as she progresses!

She is just gorgeous!! I love a chestnut TB mare!! I own/am owned by one. I was going to suggest Nellie, but Nola is a really cute name for her!

Pleasant Tap, Colony were stamina distance horses as was Princequillo, all known to be hardy. Tap retired clean legged. Colony was near 17 hands and a big rangey boy. Your mare has that frame.

Stage Door Johnny was also a distance runner from that line. Eventers like this kind of blood - all known to produce good jump and temperament.

Broad Brush was durable also and produced what they call hard knocking horses. He goes back to one of my favorites Turn To.

I’m excited for you. Enjoy an adventure of a lifetime.

Wow! She is a BIG beauty. I am about to be in the same club. Definitely window shopping TOO hard. I love Need Not Reply… but to me it means the opposite of Needy. Basically, she is too good for all them scrubs. Something sassy for sure.

Sassafras (cant think of a name i like with N)

I’m vetting this one on Thursday.
