I did something...

I’m still a few weeks off being fully cleared to ride after surgery on my ulna. Which gives me way too much time on my hands.

My husband and I have been talking about finding another project for awhile. I put some feelers out with some contacts and wanted ads.

The end result is this chunky monkey. 8 years old, 17hh. Needs another 2 months off after splint surgery but I’m very excited! Now to keep my husbands hands off him  he stole the last one off me to jump.

What a looker! Congratulations. Interesting dilemma you have with the hubby; a problem I will 100% never experience

It’s not nearly as fun as you’d think  there’s no hiding the cost or saying “I have no idea where that matchy set came from.”

His name is Fred  I was smitten with just his photos but when she said his name I knew I had to have him.

Most of our horses have dorky names like that. He’ll fit right in.

Thank you everyone! I pick him up tomorrow.

How is Fred settling in ?

Fred walked off the trailer like he has lived here his whole life. He’s made best buddies with his paddock mate and is a good uncle to the yearling.

Im excited to ride him. He looks really sound in the paddock at the moment hut best not to rush the recovery.

 Great !

Good for you and good for Fred!

Fred is not living up to the dorky name. He is TOO handsome. Lucky you!!!

Very handsome! Glad he’s settling in well.

random question, was it you who went to Spain and imported an andulusian mare a few years back? If so how she’s doing?

P.

Yes it was!

She is now retired due to soundness problems. But we were doing all our Grand Prix work before it happened. Sadly I never got to compete her seriously but she was the best teacher I ever had.

She’ll go into foal soon and our whole new journey begins.
