I give up, has the US Jumping team been fully announced yet?

Can’t find it on USEF, most certainly can’t find it on the official WEG site which IMO is the most counterintuitive thing I’ve ever seen… I mean, you click on “Athlete Biographies” you’d think that’s what you’d GET, right?? But no, you get told that Sapphire is 17 hands and Cedric is 15.2. (Yeah, thanks, we noticed.)

So - a very simple question and I throw myself upon the mercy of COTH - Has the USA jumping team been announced and if so who is on it??

Thank you!

They don’t seem to exist - no confirmed eventers yet either.

The host nation has confirmed its athletes for the dressage, driving and endurance competitions in Kentucky

With just three days to go before the opening ceremony of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, the host nation has now confirmed its team members for the dressage, driving and endurance competitions.

Dressage

The kingpin of the United States dressage team will be Olympian Steffen Peters with Ravel. This FEI Rolex World Cup winning partnership are on fabulous form and look set to be in the individual medal shake-up. Steffen was born in Germany but moved to America in 1985 and became a citizen in 1992. Four years later he helped the US to win a bronze team medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Tina Konyot will be competing in her first WEG with the Danish warmblood Calecto V. This pair have had some exceptional results this year including grand prix wins at West Palm Beech and Loxahatchee with over 70%. More recently they scored 73.64% in the freestyle at Aachen. Tina was previously shortlisted for the Athens Olympics.

Former young rider champion Todd Flettrich will ride Otto. This pair have had some promising results this season including 73% at Wellington in the freestyle to music and 68.72% in the grand prix. Although this pair are unlikely to trouble the riders contesting individual honours, they will provide a valuable team score.

Katherine Bateson-Chandler and 15-year-old Nartan complete the team. This duo have been producing consistent results this season, frequently scoring in excess of 65% in grand prixs and over 70% in freestyle classes.

The dressage reserves are:

 • Catherine Haddad and Winyamaro
 • Pierre St Jacques and Lucky Tiger
 • Sue Blinks and Robin Hood
 • Jan Ebeling and Rafalca
Driving

America will be well represented in the driving competition with a strong team of three, plus up to seven individual competitors. The team will comprise Jim Fairclough, Tucker Johnson and Chester Webber. Josh Rector has been named as the team reserve and will compete as an individual if he is not required for the team. The remaining individual drivers are:

 • Bill Long
 • Mike McLennan
 • Cindy O'Reilly
 • David Saunders
 • Gary Stover
 • Casey Zubek
Endurance

The United States endurance team are:

 • Ellen Rapp and Berjo Smokey
 • Heather Reynolds and Ssamiam
 • Margaret Sleeper and Syrocco Harmony
 • Janice Worthington and Golden Lightening
Lindsay Graham and Monk will compete as an individual and Deborah Reich and DJB Juniper are reserves.

George Morris in WEG Preview Issue of COTH: “We have five fabulous people: McLain Ward, Laura Kraut, Lauren Hough, Mario Deslauriers, and Candice King as reserve. Even in an emergency we have two great riders behind them - Richard Spooner and Rich Fellers.”

He should know if anybody does. It would be nice to have all this immediately and logically available in some organized fashion online, though.

I’m not sure about show jumping, but the US eventing team has been announced. From http://useventing.com/competitions.php?section=fei&id=2529:

I am confused, why was Georgina Bloomberg on the Today Show if she’s not on the team? it sounded like she was.

I think there is a subtle difference between nominated and declared. ALL the teams are in the media guide; http://www.usef.org/issuu/flipbook.ashx?docname=wegmediaguide&pdfurl=http://www.usef.org/documents/ebooks/usa_media_guide.pdf
(no Georgina Bloomberg)

Doffs cap

Many thanks yet again ladies!!!

enjoytheride - Georgina may be nominated as an individual???

That media guide thing only has the short list.

I imagine that Georgina Bloomberg was on the Today Show because she is the daughter of the mayor of NYC

Official:
McLain Ward and Sapphire
Laura Kraut and Cedric
Lauren Hough and Quick Study
Mario Deslauriers and Urico
RESERVE: Candice King and Skara Glen’s Davos

Bloomberg has nothing to do with anything except being the mayor’s daughter.

So why hasn’t there been an official USEF press release like for all the other teams? Or am I just blind?

FEI doesn’t require official list from each federation until Wednesdasy.
