I got another dog--I'm not sure she's a good fit Update: I will rehome her

My pet sitter found her a new situation. I just dropped her off. I can’t see it not working. I have offered to pay for her spay and vax since I had that $$ earmarked for her anyway. Cage, food, leash, collars, flea meds, toy, tennis balls delivered.

She deserves a fantastic life. The new home just lost a beloved dog. I think she will bring joy to him.

That’s wonderful! Good for you and good for her!

Thank you for pledging towards those key medical expenses and networking to find her a new home. It’s hard when it doesn’t work out but better than a decade of trying to navigate dynamics daily.

Thank you for doing your best for this lovely dog, @Ericthegreat.
You really did do your best for her and your terrier, as hard as that might be.
Best of luck to her and her new owner.

Eric, you are good people. You did the right thing for that dog and you are helping her new family be a responsible dog owner with the spay.

I am glad your pet sitter had a family in mind and the timing was perfect.

I miss her. She really is a delightful dog full of personality. She never liked me sitting in my office on the computer. She always requested my presence in the living room. As long as I am in the core of the house she didn’t care what I did.

Her new owner posted pics of her in the city dog bars. I wouldn’t have done that with her being in heat and not vaxxed but she’s not mine anymore so it’s not my call.

I still want to be a three dog house, though. I guess not a shep type again…maybe a lab? A good natured paymate for my two dogs and more poop to pick up must be my goal…I guess.

You did the right thing. The only option to have kept them all safe was to keep them separated, and that’s tough to maintain long term. It sounds like you need a lower drive submissive dog to fit in.

I know it was best…but…OW.
