I got regumate on me.

I haven’t had a period for three years and got it back a few weeks ago. I had lost weight, been underweight and got regumate on me. Now that I’ve finally had a period, I’m really wanting it to come back. I never really cared if it got on me, but now I’m really worried. I was trying to pull the syringe out and the back pièce came out getting it on me. I couldn’t wash my hands and a tiny bit was probably absorbed through my skin. Do you think it’ll mess me up further? What can I do about it? How much does it take to get symptoms or no cycle?

Unfortunately there’s no real way to be sure of how it will affect you.

i strongly recommend you start wearing disposable gloves while handling regumate.

I do not know. However, there should be a 1-800 number on the bottle or the box or the package insert (on the internet too) for the manufacturer. You can call them and they should be able to give you an answer about the problems of Regumate on skin (if any).

Regumate is easily absorbed through the skin. You should contact the manufacturer and/or Poison Control immediately. Wash up with soap and water if you haven’t already, even if it’s long after exposure.

Regumate can alter your period in addition to fun things like causing abdominal cramps.

I’d recommend discussing this with a doctor.

My friend got regumate on herself a few years back and she ended up having her period all out of whack for a few weeks but ultimately was fine. I’m not sure how much she got in herself vs how much you got on yourself. If you’re worried, I would call the number on the package if there is one, or call your doctor.

I just googled it, and the info I got was that you should have immediately washed it off and then contact a physician.

I wonder how it would affect a post menopausal women.

I’m guessing the reaction to it pretty individual. I’ve gotten it on me several times and never had any type of issues from it

gloves at all times when working with this drug. Some barns are far too casual with it. You SHOULD NOT rinse the syringes in the public sinks. used syringes should be thrown away, preferably in an appropriate biohazard / sharps container

you always have water available to rinse and flood the area of contact. It does not have to be soap and water. flood the area with water for up to 15 minutes

I once pricked my finger with the needle after giving my gelding an estrone sulfate shot. I’m trying really hard not to do that again  I cleaned it out immediately, but got really sick that night. Like Exorcist sick…

I have done this too (accidentally pricked myself after giving a horse estrone) and was terrified for the next 24 hours but I had no reaction - I guess I just got lucky!

I have one mare on regumate and use this device for dosing…much safer, easier, less messy.
