I am so sorry Fiesta! 
I would’ve been devastated to have lost this mare earlier in her life. So hard to lose these lovely gals who really steal our hearts!

She is gorgeous! Another reformed ‘gelding person’ here. I currently have 3 TB mares, 2 OTT and one 4 yo blank slate. I adore them. One is a former broodmare and, I swear, that makes them even better.

Thanks! She was very special. Her JC name was Dramatic Touch. When she had a mare moment, I would tell her that her name should have been Melodramatic Touch.

I bought my 10 yr old daughter a 5 yr old Storm Bird mare. The breeder raced her. Retired her to breed, she didn’t take so he sold her barren. Had too many to feed. Went to see her the only place to ride was his training track around his property. He asked me can she ride her? I said sure thing. He looked stunned. So they took off around the track, as in ‘took off’ DD pulled her where we were standing and asked Can I do that again. My kids did 4H and I faced a pile of disapproval from the parents there. You bought your kid a what?? A TB off the track? And a mare?? So here they are that summer at the fair. I forgot to go tell her to shorten the stirrups for the jumping, she had them at flat length. But I was the one in charge of the English show and she was doing everything on her own!
One old hillbilly coot came up to me and said I don’t know anything about that English but I do know that what I saw looks right. When she was 12 they went to Young Riders camp and got rave responses. Bestest little mare in a lifetime. DD even handily contested her Western.

And my other daughter’s first horse was a beautiful Foundation bred QH mare - out of Texas by Truck. She was a very unemotional textbook performance horse. Both of these mares raised my girls.
