I have found my happy again...it’s AWESOME.....the roller coaster rolls on, and it fell off the rails! I sold my happy!

He is handsome, close up and long distance! Love the clean, feet of snow and wearing a blanket helps.

This little horse remains my happy place my sanity, when he’s not driving me to insanity that is.

We seem to have him on his happy place, and not seeing discomfort or inability to work for a while, just having fun with him. Loved this the other day, really proving that the Trolls under the bridge have moved on.

Yesterday I was in stitches, he never has trusted the far and of the arena there, and when Ferdinand the bull and the rest of the working EQ equipment appeared it got worse. He keeps a wary eye on it. So started our ride with another horse in the arena, and Mr Stropalot was upset he had to stay and work, so decided that there might be bigger trolls in the equipment…then there WAS, 2 barn cats were playing hide and seek in there…OMG eyes on stalks……then said cats started yowling at each other, and we got to practice all sorts of dressage moves, some intentional, to get focus, some unintentional when we lost said focus

Sadly, and it breaks my heart, due to my deteriorating financial situation he is currently quietly for sale. I do not know what I will do without him, but at least I can be heartbroken with a roof over my head and good on the table.

I went to hit like and I may have accidentally hit flag, please ignore if I did. Love your pictures!

 I may have done that in the past, well at least once!

Glad it isn’t just me!

I’m sorry you have to sell him. Even though he has you pulling your hair out sometimes, you have been pretty happy with him. If I was looking for a horse, I would snap him up. I hope you find a good home for him. Or get to keep him.

Love that he’s conquered the Bridge Trolls! Huzzah!

But very sorry that you have to sell him. Life just totally sucks sometimes, doesn’t it? I’m really hoping you find yourself in a situation where you still get to ride occasionally, hang out at the barn and simply live and breathe horses.

Well rats, the first person who expressed an interest in him would have been a fantastic home, treats her horses like royalty. Shame she was looking for a step up horse for her little grands, and Mellow is not that yet, could be with more years on him, but not now.

He is currently going so well he feels 100% wi h makes it all harder and easier.

On the other hand this girl has turned up as a new boarder, mum is really struggling with her knees, I know how that feels, and the daughter is still quite a beginner. Maybe they would want some conditioning rides on her!

I love how he looks like a giant fluffy snowball. Or maybe a relative of the rare albino yak? lol

He is too darn cute.

Updates…

Mellow is still for sale, but we haven’t found the right match yet, but getting lots of interest.

In the meantime he is being used for lessons a couple of times a week, and seems to be really enjoying it, relaxed happy, just well happy…

Unlike a couple of weeks back when I thought he was either dying. Or having some sort of horrible neuro episode, turns out it was delayed reaction to his tetanus jab, that’s a first, was scary while it lasted.

Phew, what a scare.

Yesterday my little boy grew up, had his first ride in a curb bit, he was lunged in it the other day, and he did great. Me however, well always something to work on!

I have not had a lesson in forever, but Mellow is being used in lessons to get him used to other riders, and that was useful. I have been worrying sick when I ride him on my own, that he feels off, or lame, and is reluctant to trot, was it me, or his PSSM.

Turns out neither, if you ride him through the sticky patch, he becomes sound, forward and balanced, I have let him train me, now we need to retrain him. Still have to be mindful of everything, BUT, he was just so nice when he started working…

So that was a shock! There was a schooling show, Working Eq at the barn yesterday, and I wasn’t going to ride. I got into into a “I will if you will” situation and ended up signing up. It poured with rain on Friday, biblical amounts and I figured it might be cancelled, but nope it went ahead. So we rode, and he was FANTASTIC, such a good boy, so good that we won our class, which was a shock, but seems we were consistent, and that gave us the edge.

His dressage was OK, and seeing as I haven’t even thought about dressage for a year, kind of surprised he did that well. He totally rocked the ease of handling, he likes doing things. Nearly caused an issue when he grabbed the rope gate as I was closing it, and was going to take it with him.

I other news, it might be possible to keep him after all, he is temporarily off the market while I explore some options.

Ease of handling

Dressage

My favourite bit, brand new bridge he hadn’t seen before, hesitated a little. But then decided that he would trust me and go, so proud of him…

Seriously, that needs to become a trail class obstacle.

Ah, Mellow was a star! :star2:

I’m glad you both had such a wonderful experience.

:sunglasses: So cool. Congratulations.

Yesterday was a great day…I went on a trail ride!!

I never get people who say “just a trail horse, or “just a trail rider”

It was big for me, trailered off the property, rode with 10 people, some of whom were not the best behaved! But it was a great day, even managed a little lope. Oh and I met a new friend!

This little horse is amazing, following the ride we had a weiner roast, sat around the campfire with a big group of people, including my vet and old instructor, both saying they do not want to hear anything more about my weight and Mellow…we’re fine.

So instead I have been actually working on me, doing a riders Pilates course, and trying My Fitness Pal AGAIN. I will be a better rider for him.

Oh and met a new friend, I so want a Cavalier of my own, but they cost more than I paid for Mellow!
